Whilst in El Lay over the weekend, my um..."friend" doesn't have cable and has this over-the-air box thingy. The stations are divided up by .something. Example 5.1, 5.2

Anywhooo...

There is this one channel called Antenna TV and they show a George Burns show with his wife. It is really funny. The wife is really the star of the show ( IMHO ) and George Burns jokes are really sophisticated.

In one of the episodes, everyone thought George Burns was going to commit suicide and, the character who plays Mr. Burns manager asked: He hasn't been watching that "I Love Lucy" show again has he?

I also like the way George Burns talks to the audience about what's going on in the show.

Oh you are soooooo young Rick. Yes, Gracie Allen was great.

Well, I am old enough to have had Gracie Allen inflicted on me, and from the beginning, from childhood on, I thought her and her wooden husband tedious and tiresome in the extreme.

Now Tom Lehrer and Flanders & Swann, there were great masters of humour and wit !!

But for those who like their humor humour super-civilized [As I do, of course], nothing can beat the superb English comedy duo, Flanders and Swann. I feel sorry for those who crouch in the outer darkness, never having heard their Himalayan peaks of true English humour !

Cable companies need to make a really simplified remote control for seniors:

• On / Off
• Channel: Up / Down
• Volume: Up / Down

Dad has managed to get a blue screen twice today.

I've done that a time or two. Give your dad a break. We didn't have stuff like that growing up. I still can't program the DVR. I have to ask my husband or sons to do it.
