I just learned that most of the property in Israel is state owned Public Land Property which is owned by the State or the Jewish National Fund (JNF). These properties are administered through the Israel Lands Authority (Minhal Mekarkei Yisrael). The property is leased to apartment owners, generally for periods of 49 years, renewable at the end of each term. There is an annual rental fee for the lease period, however, in new construction this is capitalized and paid for at the beginning of the period. Approximately 95% of the property in Israel is controlled by the Minhal. http://www.aaci.org.il/articlenav.php?id=32Private property ownership is a core value of conservatives. I wonder how they can tolerate support in the communist regime that owns virtually all property on the country

Israel was founded by secularist, basically non religious Jews. Not only that-they leaned strongly towards socialist and even communist ideologies. Just look at the ideas behind the Kibbutz.
Israel has a certain lure for some Christian fundamentalists in the US only because they hope to persuade the Israelis to accept Jesus Christ in order to usher in the end days. Jesus returning and all of that. The "new chosen" to be swept into heaven and happy days are here again. All the rest of the sinners to be left behind and roast for eternity.
It’s Nutzim at its finest but hey. Some people are plain nuts. End of story.

Seems like a reasonable process. We lease public lands in the United Sates. Neighbor has a lease on a camp site at Myles Standish State Forest. Been in the family for generations and the rent is exceptionally cheap thanks to a lease signed generations ago. And the way or government uses the Civil Forfeiture Act why lease? Just trump up a charge and grab it! Almost as shady as Eminent domain.
