Many politicians seem eager that we should give weapons to people in support of our foreign-policy agenda. Arming Syrian rebels would be an example

Of course we have plenty of our own experience in how this can go badly wrong. Four example we are the jihadists in their struggle to expel Soviet union from Afghanistan. That did not work out so well

And now we have someone else's example to consider. It seems likely that the airliner in Ukraine was shot down with a missile. And all the details are not certain. It seems likely that someone in Russia decided to support the struggle of pro-Russian separatists in Ukraine. And they likely thought it was a good idea to provide them with antiaircraft missiles so they could fight the Ukraine government better. Who ever made the decision but he did not consider the possibility that these missiles would be used to shoot down a civilian airliner. But that is likely what happened

My point being that when we provide arms to people in all good faith. We really have very little idea how these armaments will ultimately be used. We don't know where they will end up. Or who will use them

We left lots of military hardware behind for the Iraqi army. And now
Of that equipment is in the hands of radical Islamic fundamentalists

Why do we keep making this same mistake over and over and over again?

Because the arms industry is one of the owners of our government?

I am running for President on the ticket for cutting defense spending by 50% and converting all those factories into producing things that make the world a better place.

I would like to see defense(arms) manufacturers convert back to aerospace-based companies. And we shouldn't be selling any arms to foreign countries, because it always seems to come back and bite us in the behind.

The wingnut "goofy" mindset: spend half your federal budget on the military; reject renewables in favor of fossil fuels; base your economy on consumption.

Swedes and Swiss really are quite adept at arms sales.

While I appreciate the sentiment, and I really am encouraged that somebody with your political leanings would actually consider doing something so against your party's wishes, impeachment is just not worth the effort. If you really want to stop the mess that is the Obama Administration, then you should vote Republican in the midterm elections and take away his ability to block common sense legislation coming out of the House. There is no common sense being displayed in the Senate at the moment. LOL

That is an excellent example of GOP ROT you have given us, Ollie! Bow

Reminds me of the Sioux character in "Little Big man" who was a Contrary, even walking and talking backwards.

A long list of all the Republican legislation that Obama has blocked
