Welcome To Reader Rant November 2015 Veterans day and Thanksgiving are celebrated this month. I am thankful for both. While things are not perfect, I am thankful what is, and thankful that I am still able to work on what isn't. For our veterans here at Reader Rant, we thank you and are very grateful for your service.

It coincides with other holidays including Armistice Day and Remembrance Day, which are celebrated in other parts of the world and also mark the anniversary of the end of World War I (major hostilities of World War I were formally ended at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918, when the Armistice with Germany went into effect). The United States also originally observed Armistice Day; it then evolved into the current Veterans Day holiday in 1954.
Veterans Day is not to be confused with Memorial Day; Veterans Day celebrates the service of all U.S. military veterans, while Memorial Day is a day of remembering the men and women who gave their lives and those who perished while in service.
Most sources spell Veterans as a simple plural without a possessive apostrophe My prayer is that we realize what Hell war is and make it the choice of extreme last resort. Thanksgiving Day is a national holiday celebrated primarily in Canada and the United States as a day of giving thanks for the blessing of the harvest and of the preceding year. It is celebrated on the second Monday of October in Canada and on the fourth Thursday of November in the United States. Several other places around the world observe similar celebrations. Thanksgiving has its historical roots in religious and cultural traditions and has long been celebrated in a secular manner as well. Have a great month, Ranters!
