Matt Bevin has started doing EXACTLY what he promised he would do if elected, and the TeaBags appear to be pissed now that they realize they are losing their healthcare...

1) Dismantling KYnect
2) reversing the executive order that allowed 140,000 ex-felons to vote
3) reversing the executive order that raised the state minimum wage to $10.10, back down to the federal standard of $7.25
4) Removing County Clerk names from marriage licenses, ostensibly to protect people like "Kentucky Kimmy"

I think that Kentucky Republicans never tire of getting kicked in the teeth, because they mostly have no teeth...

I think he's just trying to out Brownback Sam Brownback.
Why allow Kansas to set the example for screwing up a state economy, they're just a square flyover state!

By the way, welcome to the Rant!

Can't afford to eat in Kentucky? Can't afford to pay your bills - well that minimum wage increase isn't coming so get a second job! Matt Bevin survived on a diet of self-made grit washed down with bootstrap oil - and look at him now - he's governor.

Now that Matt Bevin is governor, he knows you don’t need the first job to pay well enough to actually survive - because he's a business man.

I always get a perverse pleasure from watching teabaggers get the government they deserve. If the poor, who will be directly harmed by a Republican administration, and Democrats, who actually seek a more egalitarian government won't get off their duffs and make it into the voting booth then they, as well, get exactly what they deserve.

Kentuckians are going to pay dearly for this, but it didn't have to be this way. Polls showed Conway with a clear lead and less engaged left leaning voters felt that they cold stay home and let others do their voting for them. The same could happen in the coming Presidential election. Polls will be showing a safe Democratic lead, Millions of people will see this and think it's a done deal. Republicans don't think this way. They are angry and scared and will come out in droves to vote for any candidate, good or bad, with an R beside his name.

Greger I keep saying EXACTLY what you just said above but even here on RR people are saying "It's in the bag" or "Hillary will BE the next President".
They're forgetting that the Republican Party of today is AN ARMY and they do what Democrats SHOULD be doing each and every election, city, local, county, state and NATIONAL.

This is indeed true. The Republicans, especially the rightward leaning ones, are engaged in political warfare. An outright Crusade if you will. They will indeed show up it droves at the polls for the general to prevent yet another godless Democrat POTUS from taking office.

If Democrats think this thing is in the bag they could be in for a shocker.

If the Republicans put up a candidate that does not come off as bat sh*t crazy I suspect Hillary, and much of the nation, is going to get a little shock. Lets see, who doesn't vote; the poor, the young, minorities, the lazy, and the stupid. Who gets screwed, lets see; the poor, the young, minorities, the lazy, and the stupid.

On the entertainment side, however, I suspect that there will be many out there marching for stuff like rights, voting, fairness, etc. Probably; the poor, the young, minorities, the lazy, and the stupid.

How does it go; "You can lead a horse to water but you cannot make it drink". You can also point out, to the poor, the young, minorities, the lazy, and the stupid that if they do not vote they WILL get screwed over. Seems to make, exactly, no difference <sigh>.

At this point, I don't think they can. A huge fraction of the Republican Party seems to be The Batsh*t Crazy Wing. If their man is not going to be the Republican candidate, I think they will follow him off into Cloud Cuckoo Land.

That leaves about 20% of the voters as mainstream Republicans, and the Independents would split between the Democrat and the Republican. 30% Democrats + 20% Independents = win.

In the entire, extremely large, field of Republican presidential hopefuls there is not a single one who does not qualify as batchit crazy.
If Donald Trump doesn't scare moderate to left leaning candidates into getting off their asses and voting we will be in for some interesting times.
*back to topic* Just as Kentuckians are entering into a very dark time in their history with a genuinely batchit crazy governor who will undo everything that has made life bearable in that backwater redneck state.
