I have never gone to any liberal blogs - I can't actually remember how I first came here. Can you suggest a couple of links for some liberal echo chamber examples? I'd like to go have a look.

I never would have gone to any "rightie" blogs except for the urging of Rick, who was regularly reporting his hijinks here on RR.

I am glad you are enjoying the opportunity for in depth and civil dicussion.

Differences of opinion are the spice of life. And we do have our fair share here on RR. BTW, katydid I am not a liberal. Liberals practice safe logic. I would rather push the envelope.
I believe that when one doesn't have facts and a solid theoretical backing for one's arguments, then the arguments are most likely flawed from the get go. Anyone can have ANY opinion, many of them baseless (for example, Obama was born in Kenya) and it is that aspect of many conservative (for want of a better word) arguments that makes them the butt of jokes.
Denying climate change in the face of overwhelming evidence is another.
Denying evolution in the face of overwhelming evidence is another.
Denying economic inequality in the face of overwhelming evidence is another.
Denying racism in the face of overwhelming evidence is another.
So, my beef with most of the "conventional" political parties is that their arguments are basically flawed (and based on some corporate agenda instead of the actual needs of the people) and their actions do not correspond to their promises.

I have directed you to a liberal channel...in fact the one i got banned at. I will not post links to other places w/o approval from management. I don't mind links at my places, but, I do prefer to be asked first. Manners.

I can also show you how to explore and find channels you might be interested in.

...... An oddity of the many blogs where righties tend to post is a format where there are no separate topics - there is just one constant stream of comments (which they like to refer to as 'discussions'). But the closest thing you can have to a discussion is, in river parlance, to "eddy out" with one or two people for a few minutes. [/quote]

You have inspired me to change the format of one of my channels. I will start having topic discussions with no off topic allowed along with the "open thread" discussions. We will see how it goes.

ugh..did that wrong...oh well next time,

The format at RR, while not the most state-of-the-art, serves its purpose well IMO, because we have to present evidence of many of our points, thus, keeping the topic close to the original theme. Other forums that I've been on more resemble comment sections which are less rigorous and more free form.

A faint breeze has begun stirring and the rain has started.
I may or may not be around much for a few days depending on the severity of the storm here and whether or not I lose power. We're about to experience tropical storm conditions(wind 35+ MPH with gusts to 50 or more, incessant rain and general ugliness) for the next 12-24 hours, it's gonna be a long night and without power, water, internet, or phone and even longer day tomorrow.
