Hey there all, it has been quite awhile since I have been here . . . politics is just too damn depressing.

I have a question . . I guess it is a little rhetorical.

Given what is is happening at our southern border with immigrant children and women . . .

How likely, or possible, is it that some if not all of the current administration and the current idiot's family could be charged with crimes against humanity in international court ?

US politicians could NOT be involved and I think there is enough world-wide animosity against #45 that is is conceivable.

This would tickle me to no end.

Slim to nil, Jimmey, slim to nil...

No one would have the cojones to charge him while he's in office and afterwards it's pretty pointless. But it's a nice thought.

Still . . the thought gives me ting-lies all over my body.

Also . . there are others in the administration that are culpable as well.

I do not disagree with the premise. I boiled over today at the criminal clown car that is the current administration. I thought George II was bad enough, but this group of incompetent criminals is worse than I even imagined it could be. It is an embarrassment the world over, and just absolutely depressing. I'm with Jim. It is hard to even think about. I'm contributing to several viable Democratic candidates, and I am going to be campaigning this year. This utter criminality has to end.

Trump will likely be defeated in 2020. That's the prize. Keep your eye on it.

Jim, what you're hoping for here is that if we can't trump up some charge against Trump that will stick then maybe some foriegn country could solve this for us by sending special agents to arrest him...?

And, NWP, you call him a criminal but he's been under investigation since before he even became a candidate. So far nothing has really come of it(and don't even bring up the obstruction thing)

Even in the MeToo years rape accusations slide off him like water off a ducks back. He rules as an autocrat within a plutocracy. Congress has abdicated its powers. He cannot break the law because he is the law.

The weird dynamic in all this is the cult like support for his cruelty and incompetence, his self serving greed and obvious corruption.

His audience loves it! But if you take a look around you, The Duggars are off the air, Duck Dynasty is no more, Honey boo-boo is gone and the Trump Show will be over soon. Human decency will win out in the end.
Or else it won't...

And where are all the Trump branded properties?
A lot of them are stripped of the Trump name, or they're in foreclosure!

It's all going gloriously according to plan.

I just thought the best shot at getting a conviction would be outside this country.

We are signatories of that august body (the international court) are we not? Even if the extreme-right thinks we give up our sovereignty we would be obligated to hand the criminals over.

I guess my fantasies runneth over, or maybe amuck. My fantasy world is all that separates me from running and screaming into the night.

Some here still think he might be indicted. I'm not one of them.

Beating him in 2020 is our best option. If he wins a second term we're in deep deep trouble. Of the existential sort...which may or may not include the extinction of our species.

The US is NOT a signatory to the International Criminal Court treaty. The usual fears about our soldiers being convicted by other countries that don't like genocide and torture. Both of which seems to be recurrent American policies.

Of course the Nazis did not agree to anything like Nuremberg, and yet several of the were convicted and executed.
