Olive, if you use a lot of Paprica it's certainly worth it to keep on hand, Smoked paprika can be had for as little as $12 a pound on Amazon but if you really wanted to rock your spice rack with some flavor I'd try this combo... Smoked Spanish Paprika Dulce and Picante Paprika is nothing more than dried ground red sweet peppers. Anywhere a touch of smokiness might be good is where you'd use it. The hotter variety where a touch of smoke and a bit of spice are both needed(almost anywhere).

Closing on the house was delayed so no fat checks yet, But I'll soon be walking in high cotton.

Thanks for the smoked paprika advice, guys. I've got a tuna casserole coming up (yum yum) so I think I'll run over to Our Daily Coop and get some bulk. I'm also making potato salad soon. (pandemic has been good for my cooking skills....only redeeming quality ! ) That way I don't have to buy a whole pound. Lordy, that would be a lot.

You better be careful with it Olyve. Greger’s been smoking a lot of paprika lately and it could be dangerous if used incorrectly.

Damn, Kensab. Thanks for the warning. He has seemed quite lit up these days. I just figured he finally turned ornery. Now I know.

Yeah, got to make a few batches of tater salad. We got some potatoes last Costco run, and they only sell 15 pound bags. Normally we don't get through a 10 pound bag before they start sprouting. We don't have a cool root cellar to store them.
I like adding mayo, apple cider vinegar, salt, pepper, paprika, and green onions. My wife's "everything cooker" (instapot) does a great job on the potatoes and also hard boiled eggs if you want to add slices on top.
I've been making French bread lately with my bread machine: They really got that setting right. It's perfect. Even the crust.

PIA, we eat a lot of potatoes (guilty pleasure, oh my) but sometimes even I over do the potatoes in the house thing (sales, etc). I poked around a bit and found this freezing potatoes. Note....you'd think I lived through the depression with my obsession for not throwing any food away. I freeze all kinds of stuff. Some just doesn't work, some work enough and some (most) work very well. Make some potato casseroles and freeze them. Put them in the ground and grow more. I think my potato salad is a southern version....mayo, mustard (I use spicy) celery, onion, sweet pickle relish and chopped eggs. Tis good! (yes of course paprika too) Brats and potato salad and veggie baked beans tonight.

So tell me is it Duke’s or Best Foods (Hellman’s in your area) that you prefer? I have never tasted Duke’s although Walmart in my neck supposedly sells it. It’s my understanding they are similar but Best Food’s Mayo uses lemon juice and Dukes does not. I do loves me tater salad! I can eat it by the quart. It’s the best food for a low carb diet Bear with me folks just trying to get the hang of these emoji’s. I do the whole dang thing on my phone as my desktop sits upstairs mostly unused.

Hellman's and Kraft mayo are virtually identical in flavor with a slight difference in texture. Both slightly more acidic than Duke's. if you don't like the vinegary bite, then Duke's is the way to go.
And Olyve...any tater salad with mustard is Southern Style.
Ornery? Me? LOL bored mostly. I just smoke a little ganja and turn my fingers loose on the keyboard. No telling what they're liable to type.
