So let's imagine that it's Election Day 2020 and that actually happens. The POTUS sends out a Presidential Alert to every cell phone in the country, advising that there is potential for widespread violence at polling places.
Some governors, sensing this possibility in advance, deploy state National Guard to ward off such a mess but POTUS is a step ahead, and takes a last minute step of "federalizing" all National Guard, so they are now under his orders, and he diverts Guard in heavily blue states to other projects, like his wall, for instance, or for anything at all, as long as it doesn't involve keeping polling places safe and secure.
He also decides to tweet long and loud about the need for dutiful supporters to "liberate" polling places in those blue states.

The question is for the individual who glances at their phone and reads the alert: What would your reaction be?
What would your reaction be to ANY "Presidential Alert"?

We should have mail voting everywhere by then because of the virus.

The only places that won't are states that would have voted for Trump. Just look at Wisconsin: Republicans did everything they could to screw up mail voting, and the votes they suppressed were Republican.

This morning it was reported that something like 16 people caught covid-19 during their voting. Anyway, given that one all they have to do is stop any mail in ballots and that will be enough to scare a lot of people into not voting. The problem, of course, is that only the Democrats wont vote because the Republicans don't believe that Covid-19 is even real!

I just checked again. Seems 19 got covid-19 for voting.

People are scared right now. All of them. And they're going to demand mail in ballots. Current US citizens have never really had to worry about much of anything. Wars are always overseas, disasters somewhere else(unless they aren't).

In fact, Trump might use even more threats against any state that expands their use. He certainly seems plenty terrified of the idea as it is right now.

The only voters who is scared and will demand mail in ballots are on the left and NOT Democrats! The other side do not, as far as I can tell, even believe Covid-19 is a real problem. This is why they have no problem with gathering together to rail against the stay at home, etc. stuff. They just load up with their guns and riot together, instead. I expect reports of them getting the virus in the next couple of weeks, then, maybe, they might change their minds but I doubt it. These people are not the brightest lights in the mental firmament but, maybe?

It seems, so far, that even when the truth is in their face they won't change their minds as they KNOW somebody is tricking them. Right up to the point where they find themselves in a hospital unable to breath. One can only continue to wonder..........
