FBI Investigates Science Contracts Awarded VecoTed Stevens is being used like the mentally retarded brother of one who's been teased about their intelligence, thrust to the fore to demonstrate a less sophisticated level of dumbness, to distract. Bush, the teased, is surely feeding this baffoon to that table of mean, America-hating kids on the other side of the lunchroom, hoping that his cornbread-crushing, milk-breathing, ketchup-smeared, pinto-bean-throwing sibling will draw the ridicule away. Does anyone really believe the Bush administration is hands-off in this whole Ted affair? This could be fun to watch. Dupes don't always cooperate, don't always march in lockstep with their exploiters desires. Dubya might've picked the wrong brother.

The smarter brother wouldn't behave that way, although the smartest one probably would. (think JEB)

I have worked on many bills to have passed and others to have been thrown out of the Senate and in 30 years Senator Stevens has always been on the side of my groups. At the time they were all GOP Groups. Is it possible that no Republican in our government can be considered ethical? How is this possible? What has happened to the GOP in the last 20 years? Is it the power the voters gave them? Who gave them the arrogance to overlook what the voters wanted?
How can the current group of candidates even consider running for President when they don't even bother to give us their plans to get out of Iraq? Or do they even realize our schools are so far behind other nations? Have they no consideration for the growing poverty we see today with our jobs leaving the nation? Do they have no responsibility for the enormous debt that may destroy our economy?
The law of averages tells me that no group in America is completely evil. How else can we explain the Republicans like Ted Stevens? I'm doing no better with my Senators Kyl and McCain.

Okay, Steve, they gave the President all the power to stay in Iraq indefinatly. Only Kusinich is standing by for a pull out. HR1234 isn't worth the paper it's written on. The whole thing smacks of no balls M'Lady.

OFF TOPIC Well I hear that Sandy, and I don't dispute it for a second, except for this one little detail. You didn't say "the Democrats" or "Congress" or "those eunuchs on Capitol Hill" or any such thing. You said "the candidates". Kucinich happens to be one of the candidates. He happens to be the one who has opposed the war since the beginning, who has spoken out consistently against it, who has consistently voted against funding it, who has spelled out a simple way to bring it to an end, who has introduced legislation delineating a plan for withdrawal - answering your specific complaint - and the one who has introduced Articles of Impeachment against Vice President Cheney. So asking "how can the current group even consider running when they haven't given us a plan" is tantamount to asking "how can anyone except Dennis Kucinich be considered for the highest office in the land?" And BTW he addressed that very point as well, in response to Sen. Clinton's ill-advised remark about attacking Pakistan with nukes. "How can anyone consider her for the highest office in the land," he asked, "when she is willing to threaten to use nukes against another country that hasn't threatened us in any way? Go Dennis! ![[Linked Image from aximsite.com]](http://www.aximsite.com/boards/images/smilies/offtopic.gif)
