From toot's Inbox (from his 'preacher' relative in Eye-O-Way) We both have a difference of opinion on this subject so please do not send me any more political stuff! I support the President in this like I said and have a grandson in Iraq to prove it. I find it interesting that most of the service men and women also support the President in this!!! Many volunteer for multiple tours because they see what's actually going on NOT the liberal news media's biased slant on the news. Since neither one of us are going to change our minds, to continue is useless and can only generate negative feelings. I find that God teaches in scripture that we are to respect those that God has in authority over us! He even said that we are FIRST of all... to pray for kings (today it's presidents) and all those in authority (I Timothy 2:1-3). In those days, it would have been the emperors in Rome who were killing Christians and MUCH worse than anything going on in the USA today. We do have a great deal of persecution of Christians but most of that and esp. the killing is going on in the Far East and Africa. How much praying for President Bush have you done??? Is calling President Bush and VP Chaney names respecting God's delegated authority? As President, he is God's representative authority here on earth. Therefore, I support him and pray for him even though I don't necessarily agree with everything he does. When I disagree, I take it up with his Boss in prayer but I try to keep my attitude positive and respectful toward him! Sometimes that requires more prayer than at other times. For me, it really required more time with President Clinton. I am thankful that he is no longer president and no longer in authority! My response: Dear misguided fool,
Your logic is flawed. If God puts leaders in positions of authority, then he did so with Saddam Hussein. Who were we to oppose God's will?
Same thing goes for the Chinese.
Down through history there have been many people in key places who were downright evil and wicked. Yet Romans 13 tells us that no authority exists except that which God has established. Then how are we to view the Neros, Hitlers, Stalins, and others who have plagued humankind with their murderous evil? Did God set Hitler in power? Did God place Stalin over the Soviet Union? Did God place Cheney and Bush over America?
Hell, no. The Supreme Court - at least the evil Republican members - did that in 2000. And the evil election officials in Ohio did the deed in 2004! The fact that you refuse to believe that makes no difference - that IS what happened. Willful ignorance in the face of such evil is a big sin, brother.
Will you support EVIL by following leaders put in power with lies and deception? Do you think God will bless you for doing so?
GOOD AMERICANS used to fight evil tyrants.
As a matter of fact, we still do.
That does not include you, you S.O.B.

And, by publishing his email in full on the web, you've ensured that his message reaches a lot more eyes than just yours.
I'm sure he's grateful.

i know i'm grateful. it reminds that down here, in the south, we don't have the market cornered on religious kooks.
sure, you can talk to god, but if you don't listen then what's the use? so, onward through the fog!
