Read all about it.

Actually, it brings back memories of "Hands Across America". http://www.usaforafrica.org/legacy/hands.htm
My wife, daughter, and I stood in the chain near Rock Creek in DC. It was quite an event. Guess we'll do Scrabble by candlelight tomorrow.

It may very well have been the "feel good" event of the season.:-)

I did too say "fixing to."

But I also missed the event.

I looked at the pictures though, and that gave me a awfully contrary thought: if that's what those cities look like when they're "dim," then somebody's talking to the wrong person about buying expensive lightbulbs. I mean why IS the Sydney Harbour Bridge lit up like that? And the Opera House?

And the Sears Tower and Las Vegas and the Ginza District - hell, all of Tokyo - I am an awfully small pea in a very large pod, and switching out the dozen or so lightbulbs in my house might be a good idea, but as long as that other stuff is going on, my efforts amount to a gnat's fart in a high wind.

Kind of like when I lived on the Western Slope of the Rockies, and I quit conserving water when I figured out people were using the water I saved to build fountains in Las Vegas, swimming pools in Phoenix, and golf courses in Palm Wherever.

Sorry. But those are awfully big pictures of waste, being used in an attempt to guilt trip me about my really rather unimpressive electricity usage.

Pretty pictures, though.
