Phil is right...if you watch it do so off Netflix. DON'T watch the cleaned up TNT version. Well I should say it's not as good, I wouldn't dream of trying to tell you what to do.
The allure of the show was the no holds bar way they looked at sex and in a funny way. It's not a show for everyone but it opened a lot of eyes to the fact that yes woman can and do think of sex and in ways that would make men blush.

I DO have netflix (my children made me and now I'm hooked.. ) and you've intrigued me. I'll take a look.

Interesting. During a horribly long time in bed with a pressure sore--not the best company in bed--I bought season 1. It ended with Carrie dragging her friends to see her picture on the side of a bus, a picture to which someone added a penis coming out of her mouth. Then the sanitized version started and I watched. Granted, a moustache didn't equal the penis, but I still watched. Then I wondered how different the other years were in the original. I've been working on season 2 through netflix but the major difference I've noted is they say the f-word, that we're not allowed to use here, more often.
I hear the CA trip lost a lot in "translation" so I'll probably check out that year, but I've been happy with characters and plot. Call me low-brow.
