U.S. Intel: Iran Plans Nuclear Strike on U.S.
Kenneth R. Timmerman
NewsMax

We've been discussing the gullibility of the American electorate a great deal lately. How many of those gullible people (sometimes referred to as "sheeple") read NewsMax? How many believe what they read there?

Quote
“The only plausible explanation we can find is that the Iranians are figuring out how to launch a missile from a ship and get it up to altitude and then detonate it,” he said. “And that’s exactly what you would do if you had a nuclear weapon on a Scud or a Shahab-3 or other missile, and you wanted to explode it over the United States.”

[SNIP]

The United States “would quickly revert to an early 19th century type of country.” except that we would have 10 times as many people with ten times fewer resources, he said.

“Most of the things we depend upon would be gone, and we would literally be depending on our own assets and those we could reach by walking to them,” Graham said.

America would begin to resemble the 2002 TV series, “Jeremiah,” which depicts a world bereft of law, infrastructure, and memory.

[SNIP]

Arizona Republican Sen. Jon Kyl, a long-standing champion of missile defense, told the Claremont conference on Friday that Sen. Obama has opposed missile defense tooth and nail and as president would cut funding for these programs dramatically.

Go ahead, if you dare, and see how many right-wing discussion sites are abuzz with this dire warning. Or just speculate, if you wish. Will peo(/shee)ple's opposition to Sen. Obama be hardened by this premonition? Is it suitable Talking Point Fodder for the Woefully Unaware? Or is it merely amusing and otherwise meaningless?

If this scenario were to be played out by the Iranians on us or any other country - it would mean complete and utter annihilation of Iran.

Please. No American can actually be that stupid to believe this stuff.

...but then again, Faux News is the number one cable news network.

Never mind.

No, they would hit our Arab allies and they would do a poor job at that. Both of those missiles are like a shotgun in the hands of a 2 year old. They can pull the trigger but are not so apt to hit the intended target. Stick them in the Atlantic, let them aim and they are just as likely to hit Mexico and Canada. They just have some crappy guidance systems. I feel kind of bad for them really. The Persians are such a proud race [and great food!].

Cheers

Of course, there is absolutely no evidence that Iran has any interest in launching a nuclear attack against anyone, but hey, why let that fact interfere with fear-mongering?

What a coincidence! The latest issue of the New Yorker contains an article by Sy Hersh where he says that after the Strait of Hormuz incident last fall, Cheney determned that the American people were willing to support an attack on Iran if it felt Iran was going after our troops and that the U.S. needed a causis belli to make that (an attack on Iran) happen. Here is the full article.

Sounds like the PNAC's desire for another Pearl Harbor.

In an interview posted on You Tube, Hersh said that, although the New Yorker didn't print it because it (the causis belli) was not adopted, at a meeting in Cheney's office, the people present discussed several ways to instigate this "causis belli". One was to manufacture, in the U.S., 4 or 5 boats to look like Iranian gunboats, dress up Navy Seals as Iranians, put them on the gunboats in the Strait of Hormuz with lots of artillery, and have them attack a U.S. ship. However, the plan was discarded as it would have Americans killing Americans. Not because starting a war under fake circumstances was despicable and might cause a global nuclear holocaust.

This makes me sick.

Only six months till we get rid of these thieves and murderers. I only hope we survive until then.

I think I recall something, a few years ago, about Iraq about to strike the US too? Maybe it was a dream Hmm

Or is it 6 months and 4 years, after McCain wins the next presidency. (Believe me, I think he has a good chance of taking the grand prize and I won't be shocked if he does!)

The very best part of Newsmax is their ads. Here's a sample from the linked article.
  • Latest: Your Tiny Thyroid Gland May Be Cause Of Your Obesity -(it has nothing to do with that 12-pack of beer and extra large bag of pork rinds you consume every day)
  • Are Pheromones a Secret Weapon for Dating - (daily brushing of teeth might be effective-I know you're worried about the commie fluoride plot, but here's your clue: spit, don't swallow...)
  • This little blue pill is amazing! Ladies love guys that take it. - (Ingredient: saltpeter)
  • Doctor Reveals How to Avoid Prostate Cancer. - (have a sex change operation)
I miss the ad that claimed liberal media was to blame for their readers' babeless existence though.
