Good morning all, it's unseasonably warm here. How is it where you are?

I wonder if that brigade assigned for duty within the US will be deployed to Southern California to aid in the wildfires. It seems to me that this IS the type of disaster they were assigned to do.

Hi, BT! It is in the 90's here in SoCal, where I am. very windy, too. Every time a siren sounds, we and our neighbors get a little nervous. We are all on watch for fires.

Are you near the fires? rolleyes

I would have my important papers, photos, family treasures, computer hard drive and pets at the ready, just in case.

CNN is saying there may be rolling blackouts in your area and for citizens there to not turn on their A/C. With 90 degree temps, I would find that difficult.

Do stay safe.

There are now three fires within 10 miles of me. It looks like some firebug is out setting fires. My sister might have to evacuate. This is the South Corona/anaheim Hills area, at the junction of the 91 and 71. The second fire is in Anaheim Hills and the third in Diamond Bar/Brea. All are west of me and moving in a westerly direction.

We have all of our papers in a fireproof box that can be tossed into our car. Our pets are two small dogs, and our fire insurance is paid up!

Be safe South Cal people. These pictures are devastating.
My thoughts are with you.

Thanks, Greger.
I got that bird photo from a photography site I use to lift nice ones to post here. I didn't know the type of bird until I googled it.
It looks like a Lilac Breaster Roller.
Pretty isn't it?

My pictures I took at the demonstration didn't come out that good because of the angle of the sun.
Here it is anyway.
It was a nice crowd.

Boy quiet here today, probably everyone is out protest wink

I just got home. What an exciting day. I took the bus downtown and it was easily the gayes bus ride in history. Packed with protesters and signs, a big hoot. The subway was so overwhelmed that it had to turn people away. Police say 12,000 but after the rally when we marched the line strectched for two miles through downtown so it was much larger than that.

Doesn't matter, because what was really great is it was mostly young people, party boys, families, latin, black, asian and white all out for equality.

Pictures soon.

Here's the Lilac Breasted Roller in flight. This is an entirely new family of birds to me, the Roller family may be entirely African. Simply Beautiful........
