Now you, too, can own this special edition 2009 Sarah Palin calendar FREE! In their mass email (yes I'm on their list ), NewsMax described the calendar as "hot". ![[Linked Image from shop.newsmax.com]](http://shop.newsmax.com/shop/images_emart/large/635_large.jpg) Newmax is correct, Stereoman. That is one fine lookin' shotgun. As to the female pol in the picture, well, lets face it, there is a segment of those who are left of center who will probably always hate any female that has achieved individual success in her life while not playing the societal 'victim', not availing herself of the 'assistence' of today's professional "victim" pimps, AND having the audacity to be right of center to boot!!:-) Yours, Issodhos

A person's attitude and demeanor have SO much to do with their appeal - in my opinion.
Sarah Palin has the Mature, Librarian, Secretary sort of look which I happen to really like.
But, the "brain" and "issues" that come with that attractive outer shell take away from the appeal.

Perhaps it's my age or perhaps because I'm a woman, but I've never understood this "hot" thing as regards Sarah Palin. She reminds me so much of Katherine Harris -- two Barbie dolls. Is that what you men want? Geez.
EmmaG I freely admit that both would turn my head... but not my path. I doubt it would take me more than minute or two of conversation, at the most, before I would say "No, thanks" "Please, God, no!"

It's OK not to get all giddy and gooey over a presidential candidate because the candidate is a female. If someone is effin stupid they are effin stupid. I give you the present President. There is little political/intellectual difference between George W. Bush and Sarah Palin. Both of them are as dumb as a bag of hammers. Problem is, in some circles you are an insecure anti-feminist if you have the cheek to question Palin's intelligence. Bush can be a dolt and though Palin is just as doltish the easily offended will be all over you in a heartbeat for calling Palin a moron: "You obviously have a problem with strong women." Nope. Stupid is stupid and sometimes stupid wears a dress. Oh and Sticks, it's a small thing, but President Bush is still in office and therefore it's not "Librarian", it's "Liberrian". It's rumored in fact that for several years in his early term Bush thought "Liberrians" had their own country in North Africa. Of course I shouldn't say that because it only shows my strong dislike for really smart men who climb the ladder to success.

Is there a Tina Fey as Sarah Palin calendar? Please? One where each month you can press a button and she'll speak? I want one!
But then I'm in an odd mood. I just got a thank you note from a friend for a gift I bought for and thought I mailed to another friend. Does Emily Post have a suggestion for such a situation?

If y'all don't mind, I really don't want the thread to go over to documenting who hates her and why. I was just wondering what y'all thought of the calendar - if it made you chuckle to see it referred to as "hot" - and I was posing the question of how appearance is related to electability. I LOVE the King of the Hill comparisons, Jeff. Not being a TV watcher, I had no clue until you pointed it out. Other folks may have gotten than long ago, but not me! I'm totally with sticksnstrings - I do actually think she is an attractive looking woman, but as soon as she opened her mouth, forget it! Not that I'd ever care which candidate I'd want to go to bed with, Phil. Sheesh. But I admit it makes a difference to me not only what a candidate says, but how s/he says it and what [s]he sounds like. Call it actors' elitism I guess. Don't get me started about the gun, iss. Or your description of it.

Steve, I'll go back and reread the thread but I only recall one mention of 'hating her'. I don't know her well enough to hate her.
I think the calendar is a goofy idea but seems to be in line with who she is. As I said, in my part of the country "hot" can definitely get somebody elected and she is perceived as being hot not only because she is attractive but she shoots and is fertile and that all spells "good family values". Huh? Is what I have to say.
That said I'm interested in knowing how you know, Iss that she came to success in that particular manner.

Lemme put it this way. Now that I know more about Sarah Palin I can't stomach looking at her, and yet Tina Fey grows more exciting by the second. I can't explain it, my wife even acknowledges that Tina is a cutie. We actually had the discussion about how Tina Fey could look attractive even though Palin revolted us. We both drew a blank.
