Moran especially questioned the firings at a time when the military is relaxing its recruitment standards to meet its goals, including by issuing more felony waivers. Perhaps the days of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" are numbered. Maybe soon we will live in a country where a person's sexual orientation is not considered a determinative factor of job performance, whether in the military or otherwise (the teaching profession also comes to mind). Maybe the "DA-DT" policy is not high on the President's list of priorities right now, but I'm glad to see at least one elected official intends to keep it in the national consciousness.
