Good morning all! The sun has finally come out after three days of rain and wind. I've done the taxes and we're getting a refund. I watched on television the shuttle land safely yesterday and found out that the next one might be taking off when we are in the area on vacation in May. And of course, Steve has once again provided us with wonderful things to click on. It's a happy day!

I'm checking a customer's cat twice a day while she and another customer (they are partners) are off to sea cruise for 6 days. This is great as he is a sick boy with a dreadful cancer. He's feeling good right now though so she's taking him for a pleasure trip.

Great work, Steve, as usual, an incredible opener!
I thought I heard a shuttle landing yesterday, a little surprising that they landed it here since the weather was so crappy, the double sonic boom was so close together that it sounded like a single explosion. It really rattles the windows.
We had the wind and the clouds yesterday but no rain. I went out and cleaned the gutters in anticipation though, it has arrived but so far just drizzly with no downpours. Gonna be a nice day to stay in and cook.

Wow, greger I saw you write that earlier (somewhere) about the shuttle landing nearby but for some reason thought you were kidding.

whatcha cooking today? I'm hungry.

Chunks of Slow Roasted Jerk Pork with Sweet Onions from my garden and Red and Green peppers. Basmati Rice with Pigeon Peas and Tomatoes, seasoned with a touch of Allspice. Black Seedless Grapes, Papaya, and Orange slices on the side to kill the Scotch Bonnet Burn. The Salad will be Spinach with a Warm Bacon Dressing and dessert a Key Lime Pie.
I've done the pork a couple times already for myself but now it's ready to serve company.

The Spanish justice system has enough information and evidence to pursue legal actions against those in the Bush administration who ordered torture to take place, but our own DOJ doesn't? Mr. Holder, maybe you could benefit from taking some continuing legal education courses.

According to the New Yorker, Cheney did his best to undermine incoming President Obama's relationship with Israel.

The difference between the present and last administration - words can hardly describe it adequately. I wonder how many outgoing administrations tried sabotage as a parting gift to their successors.

c) Health Care idiocy
We now have 7,000,000 unemployed. That means that the 40,000,000 uninsured is probably closer to 60,000,000. And that means that when people try to buy their own coverage, to replace what their employer used to do, they end up SOL.

d) Joe Biden
What a fool! In one single, stupid, short-sighted statement, he changed the way America will deal with Latin America.

Just who does he think he is? George Bush and Dick Cheney spent 8 long, hard, trying years, insuring that everyone in that region hates and fears us. All that good work just went down the tubes.

Sheesh. The idea that we can't dictate to them little peoples to the south is plum crazy! Why else are they there? Who will cut our lawns, raise our babies, and serve as slave labor for Big Ag. Geez, the next thing will be Joe Biden preventing Big Pharma from using them little latinos as guinea pigs for experimental medicines! How crazy is that?

e) Torture errors
When the CIA tortured Abu Zubaida using water boarding (in your spare time, go see what senators Kyl, Chambliss, Brownback, Cornyn, Bond and Colburn have to say about torture, and why waterboarding is so important to the American way of life), several administration cheerleaders were pushing for more.
