I was originally going to post this under the Swine Flu thread, but I thought it deserved its own topic in Politics.

I posted this on the swine flu thread but I think it's worth reposting here given the nature of paranoia that seems to run through some of our radio-heads on the AM airwaves.

This is from the Web site of a radio show that specializes in UFOs and bigfoots, coast to coast a.m. It's a fun show at times, but one must take it, like Alex Jones, with a grain of salt.

I have never read or listened to or seen Malkin. Once I listen to Savage because I had a rental car and his was just about the only program I could pick up as I drove. Listening to Savage once does not an authority make. From my most limited experience Savage seems to be a hater, a real, practicing, wallowing in it hater. In my one hour experience I heard Savage say some pretty horrible things about people he hates, which appear to be anyone who is not like him, which is to say most people. I found his hatred obscene. Honestly.

It is interesting that the Supreme Court upheld a ruling by the FCC on cuss words yesterday, yet the obscenity of pathological hatred is ignored. The FCC said of yesterday's ruling. "We won one for the the families." Oh, give me a f*cking break!

For the record I'm against censorship and I believe that if people like Savage want to hate coast to coast they have the right. If television networks choose to allow specific content they too have the right. The public has a right not to participate. I chose not to listen to Savage after an hour and I choose not to watch television as is nothing but crap. (I watch 3 shows and with the exception of college football and rodeo that is the sum total of anything I view on TV: 24, because Ms. Mickey loves it; the Unit, which is from time to time pretty good; Shameless on BBC America, an award winning comedy that would never make it on American network TV as there are no "stars", people talk as they do in real life, cursing and all and the writing, acting and directing is superb.)

Back to Savage. Real hatred is a vile, nasty sickness. It honestly is, and I believe that is what comes from Savage. More than a decade ago I began trying to distance myself from people like Savage, toxic people. I'm not always successful, but my average is better than ever. I find that when I get involved in what haters are saying I began to feel nasty and I want to hurt back with words.

Savage is a sick person. I treat him the way I treat other sick people that I do not need to be around. I stay the hell away from them.

And that brilliant Michele Bachmann blames it on the Democrats.

Never understood how Rep. Bachmann ever got elected. Minnesotans generally seem to be responsible, sane, and not prone to bizarre behavior...well, all except for electing that pro 'rassler guy to the governorship.
