"Why do, basically, people with money have good health care and why do people who live on lower salaries not have good health care?" she said. "Health should be a right for everyone." She is president of the Global Health Corps, an organization that champions global health equity.
The Newsroom Bush women run afoul of GOP orthodoxy
(I really don't like the title of the article. Talk about manipulation of the reader)

I don't really know what I want the subject matter of this thread to be.
Y'all decide.
I just found her video very interesting.
I'm heartened when the younger generation recognizes suffering and thinks it needs to stop.
The fact that it is President Bush's daughter doesn't even really surprise me...though I essentially knew nothing about her values before this article.

I like the idea that more and more people think it's inhumane to just let people die because they can't get the care they need.

I think health should be a right too.

Well, why should it? President Bush the Younger was behind creating the huge drug entitlement program that was passed early on in his presidency.:-)

Good to see that she grew up and made something of herself instead of turning into the political-family equivalent of P. Hilton.

Interesting, though - the comment they showed was "Health should be a right for everyone." I wonder if she meant what she said, or intended to say "health care."

Either way Grandmother probably plotzed.

Do you think it is hereditary?

ROTFMOL
Gosh, Isso. That big business entitlement program makes him look downright librul, doesn't it?
I mean don't get me wrong, I'm glad seniors got some drug expense relief but that's another Republican program that's a mess and a boon to the private sector just like the Medicare Advantage thingy that you love so much.
But....all that's a subject for a different thread, doncha know.

LOL, that's kind of what I was thinking, Mellow.

Won't surprise y'all to know though that to me "health" and "health care" are often/usually synonymous.

Uh oh....is this my bad?
It's not you?

Seriously sorry, Isso.
I thought I remembered somebody here who wanted to defend that program.
