Q: Why is a group of men named 'Steam' wearing nothing but towels singing about kissing him goodbye in the 1960s? ![[Linked Image from i48.photobucket.com]](http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f228/ca_rickf/Smilies/icon_evil.gif)

I believe that either Teen Angel or Tell Laura were written and produced to lampoon the sappy teen age death songs of the time. Do you remember Leader of the Pack by the Shagri-Las, which became number one on the Billboard Hot 100 on November 28, 1964? How about Leader of the Laundromat by the Detergents, which was a parody of Leader of the Pack? It was funny, but ended the careers of the Detergents, because back then you didn't make fun of Top Ten Hits.

I liked the remake better, too.
