Yeah, it's that "pretty much" part that is elusive isn't it?

Perhaps for those readers who wish it to be, loganrbt. Can you google?

Why should anyone today be interested what a bunch of traitors and terrorists were thinking when they wrote their self-serving Constitution a quarter of a millennium ago?

Perhaps it is more what they agreed to write that is of interest. Or, perhaps it is more what the several states agreed to ratify that is of more interest. Perhaps it is of interest because it is the basis for what is supposed to be legal in this republic. Perhaps it is of interest because it is a touchstone for individual rights that does not exist elsewhere. Or,perhaps it is simply an embedded force of habit. Either way, you are not under its "jurisdiction", so why concern yourself, numan?:-)

No, they aren't corpses yet. One is hiding out in Texas, the other is on the evening news continuing to spout the lies that got us into this mess. We are slaves to economic irresponsibility. We are slaves to Judicial Corruption. We are slaves not because of the Constitution but in spite of it.

A good source of information concerning Judge Sotomayer's judicial record can be found at scotusblog.com. I would recommend the following two articles to anyone who wants to respond to the ridiculous charge that the Judge is a racist who will render "race-based" decisions. As usual, such charges from "the right" are fantasy-based.

Check this out

and

this as well.

Yeah, right. [Linked Image from 33smiley.com]

It is good that you put that "supposed" in there!

America's Corrupt Legal System

Quote
Theoretically, torture and abuse is totally outlawed by America's Constitution, but some of the nice words in America's Constitution hold little power anymore, despite how often people quote them.

The Americans who still believe the Constitution protects them, are mostly those people who haven't yet dealt with the judges and lawyers of America's corrupt legal system.

America's Constitution and Bill of Rights are nearly dead, not just because the judges will no longer enforce them, but even more because America's lawyers will not even fight for them....

America's army of nearly 1 million lawyers, is almost totally under the control of a few thousand judges, with their entrenched culture of bribery and fraud and miscarriage of justice.

Pretty much true, now. But I still live too close for comfort. You know, "...y cerca de los Estados Unidos." [Linked Image from i48.photobucket.com]

Moreover, I feel empathy for my fellow countrymen who still live under the slavery of the Constitution.

But I suppose that is too close to "altruism" [Linked Image from i48.photobucket.com] for your taste, Issodhos! wink

Can we limit the discussion on this thread to the President's nomination of Judge Sotomayor to sit as a Justice of the Supreme Court?
