The feeling I get is that she is doing what she has to do to stay above water. After all, she's living with Mom and Dad. A job really isn't in the picture for a 17-year-old mother. The father is...whatever. I would not be surprised if she's not doing this "abstinence tour" as a way of keeping a roof over her head - whether that means making money or making the 'rents happy.

She's got more choices than a lot of 17-year-old mothers - but that's still not a lot of choices.

It shouldn't have really surprised anyone that she wasn't the daughter at the ball game.

Actually, that's what she is and what she was doing. Her life was high school and baby care; she had broken up with what's-his-name, all her plans had changed.

She's preaching abstinence, yes. But she's not telling anyone that having a baby is glamorous, or a breeze. That would be worth yelling at her about.
