people keep suggesting that this thread is absurd and a waste of time and while i get that there is a bigger issue at hand here, i believe. gov. palin is a lightning rod and has captured the hearts of roughly half of our population. it is, i blieve, symptomatic of people's inabilty to weed through rhetoric and look at substance. people would rather feel good than get down and dirty and face reality in hopes of solving problems. and to be fair, the same goes for pres. obama and his ardent supporters, however pres. obama does not set off my screaming red lights the way gov. palin does. as well, this issue is about emotion and how we feel about ourselves, not about substance. i and others believe she used this is a chance to keep her name out there, and while doing so perpetuate the notion that she has the pulse of the nation and can make you feel better about yourself. in short, like so many pols, she is a snake oil salesman. the real key for me is to feel good about who i am and where i am no matter what. i know that many of you take the same approach to life, yet so many do not. they are plugged into every electronic orifice, waiting for that next big thing to make them feel different, better etc. it is a con game in the extreme.
