greger, what gets me is that you and a couple of well meaning people on this thread keep going back to the whole child thing, Beggin yer pardon there, 2wins, but the title of the thread is BANGING SARAH PALIN'S DAUGHTERS not "Banging the 18 year old" not "Banging Sarah Palin" but her daughters. Plural, The 18 year old, the 14 year old, the preteen, and the baby. The joke was specifically, if mistakenly, aimed at the 14 year old. You guys might feel like crude sexual jokes about children are cool and wonderful humor, I don't. I'd be happy to stop arguing if you'd stop telling me its ok for old men to talk about screwing a 14 year old on national tv and that it's funny and ok because it's Sarah Palin's Daughter. If the thread is now about Sarah Palin I'm done with because I hate the woman and have nothing to say about her. as i said, i did not think the jokes in good taste at all. i'm not certain what other male on this thread thinks otherwise. i might have missed that. also, you and i seem to disagree on the nature of this thread. by virtue of gov. palin's position and behavior, i see this as a topic aimed squarely at her.
sure, you can talk to god, but if you don't listen then what's the use? so, onward through the fog!

Governor Palin needed to strenuously object to a joke that by every indication was aimed at Willow, a minor. Once Letterman apologized and explained that the joke was about 18 year old Bristol I hope the governor consulted with her older child and got her go ahead before she defended her.
Those who want to side with Palin will call Bristol a child. There's no definitive line between being a child and a young adult. Maybe it has to do with maturity. But it seems to me that part of good parenting would be treating your 18 year old like a young adult. Good parenting??? We.re talking about Gov. Palin here. Her kids are already at a disadvantage.

Maybe a reference back to the Opening Post is in order? Doug described it as "a tasteless joke" and I have seen no one here disagree. I think his primary point was Yes, Letterman's joke was tasteless but tasteless humor is a staple of late night TV. Sarah Palin has no moral standing on the issue and she put her children into play by trotting them out as campaign gimmicks. I agree. 'nuff said.
A well reasoned argument is like a diamond: impervious to corruption and crystal clear - and infinitely rarer.
Here, as elsewhere, people are outraged at what feels like a rigged game -- an economy that won't respond, a democracy that won't listen, and a financial sector that holds all the cards. - Robert Reich

Palin might have done so, but the children didn't. Anybody that thinks it's OK to make mean cruel jokes about children is nothing more than a bully. Pick on somebody one's own size and age, I say. Otherwise, one is no better than Rush Limbaugh.

Scout, I've tried and tried to get that point across from the very start. I've said enough. I'm done. The children are fair game.

Those who want to side with Palin will call Bristol a child. Piffle. It has nothing to do with siding with Governor Palin or determining what Bristol is to be called. It has to do with those who want to side with common decency. Yours, Issodhos

So, we can agree that Governor Palin did not "participate" in a skit that portrayed her husband as engaging in incest, and indeed was not even in the skit you and mama's link to a huffpo article reference. As to the YouTube video, of what I assume to be a SNL skit, it struck me as being more a spoof on the media for some of the baseless savagery directed at the Governor's family. Yes, I co-mingled the two skits in memory. We agree.

from msnbc.com Gov. Sarah Palin accepted the apology of late night host David Letterman for making jokes about her family but ended up misquoting the Constitution and the First Amendment while trying to make political hay of the apology. emphasis mine. Not only that, she mentioned, during her acceptance of David's apology, the troops and a laundry list of items that had nothing to do with accepting David Letterman's apology. I've said it once, I'll say it again: She's running in 2012.
