I just pour in an amount that looks right based on how zippy I want it to taste on a given night. Trial and error. Roughly a couple of teaspoons per small can of tomato paste.

I like Catsup on hot dogs and hamburgers and nothing else. Never on French Fries. As a kid it went on Scrambled eggs or in the eggs before they were cooked, yuck, kids eat the strangest things. As far as meatloaf goes the Worscesterchire Sauce goes in the meatloaf but not on it, I just squirt a little ketchup on it and spread it very thin to give the meatloaf a nice glaze, more for appearance than flavor. Meatloaf, in my world, is properly served with mashed potatoes and gravy.
Good coffee, good weed, and time on my hands...

When I was a teenager, I went through a ketchup and minced onions on my hot dogs and hamburgers phase. Now it's yellow mustard, sweet pickle relish, and sauerkraut on the hot dogs. Rarely use it on burgers anymore, preferring lettuce, tomato, onion, and mayo. I can't remember the last time that I had French Fries (bad experience at a greasy spoon), but when I did partake, it was ketchup on the fries. I still use it on scrambled eggs sometimes, but usually I use salsa. I concur with Greger's meatloaf preference, but also would add sweet peas.

Cold Meatloaf Sandwich: Ketchup & mayo French Fries: 2/3 mayo 1/3 Ketchup mixed together well. Mustard ONLY on cold meatloaf sandwiches Gotta try that french fry combo.

french fires, or chips as we call them here, need to be eaten with salt and malt vinegar.

Years ago I stopped at a newly opened pseudo British fish & chips luncheonette. It was great! Or, at least for a month or two, and then the batter and fish weren't quite as fresh,and the grease not changed as frequently as it should have been changed. The business went bye-bye within a year or so, but it was at that establishment that I was first introduced to vinegar on fish and chips, or, on anything other than a salad for that matter. The restaurant is long gone, but I now like vinegar on my fish and chips. However, I don't remember if they had bottles of malt or balsamic vinegar on the tables. I vaguely remember asking the owner what kind of vinegar, since I was familiar with only apple and white, and this stuff tasted a lot better. It was probably malt vinegar. I later asked another restaurateur what kind of vinegar he added to split pea and ham soup, and I distinctly remember him saying balsamic, but I believed that even here in "The Colonies" it was malt vinegar on the fish and chips. Anyone remember that Benny Hill skit with oil and vinegar on food?

I've always eaten french fries with tartar sauce. Mmmm! When I was in college, there was a truck stop nearby where they served "wet fries" - french fries covered with chicken gravey. And at our house, we prounce that red stuff on the burger "h-o-t-s-a-u-c-e".

Many years ago as I stood in line for lunch at McD's, some kid ahead of me just placed his order for 2 Big Macs without the "tartar sauce." The girl behind the register said, "that's "special sauce. Not tartar sauce!" The kid said, "It's tartar sauce and I don't want it!" He got his burgers as ordered, but I had an epiphany at that moment: It was tartar sauce sans the pickles! I happen to love tartar sauce (with a lemon wedge)and liked it on my Big Macs,fish sticks, etc., but the kid was right. I know it's stupid, but it was like a revelation. I also didn't do any cooking whatsoever at the time,other than boiling water.
