Joe I'm with you on most restaurant potatoes, mealy, dry on the inside and greasy on the outside. I can do better than that.
I never really got the hang of actually making biscuits, those things that you pop out of cans are NOT biscuits.
Bisquick is also a poor excuse for biscuits, it makes good dumplings though. In the freezer section of your grocery store you will find several brands of frozen raw biscuits in a bag. These are about as good as biscuits get and you can pull two out of the bag and bake them whenever you want. Maybe not quite as good as that truckstop but way better than the fast food biscuits.
Oh, and down here biscuits aren't just for breakfast, they work with any meal.
