Hell hath no fury.
Who do I start with the insurance company (yes), the pharmacy, the doctor??
My daughter will have to take medicine for the rest of her life for her seizure disorder although her disorder is so mild I haven't seen her have one since she was very little.
The only seizures she's had in recent years were related to pregnancies and hormone changes until very recently.
The 18th of this month and last February.
Apparently insurance companies require pharmacies to switch over to generic brands if there is one available. Without her knowledge they did that last February.
She got none of this...
In both cases the doctor offered me a solution, explained the downside, and gave me an alternative. Maybe I've just been lucky in my selection of doctors (which, in turn, was pretty much driven by the doctors listed with my employer's insurance plan.)
After the fact she has done the research and found out what they switched her over to has many cases of problems with it.
Now here she is....
again with two young children, a husband who needs to travel a lot with his job and can't drive for 6 months...
again in a very short period of time.
She's even made the difficult decision to change the children's school to the neighborhood school instead of the charter one she had to drive them to.
She gave up her gym membership and her yoga and belly dancing.
Yes she's consulted a lawyer and yes she's got grounds for a suit but she's house bound with two children and a traveling husband and just doesn't want to take that on.
Mr O has cholesterol issues. He takes that red yeast rice. We're mostly vegetarians and eat little saturated fat. He cut back on sweets a little more, beer too and lost another 10 pounds and was able to bring his down 50 points last time.
He's going for another blood test in a couple of weeks to test it again.
