When the Federal govt runs out of creditors to lend them money and their financial outlook resembles California's, that's when we will see an end to personally enriching wars to inflate the checkbooks of their cronies and energy policies that do the same for other cronies.
Till then, bend over...here it comes again. Truer words were never spoken. Though there is little point in me bending over, they've pretty much screwed me out of everything I ever had, this well is dry.

New quote of the day...
“If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their money, first by inflation and then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around them (around the banks), will deprive the people of their property until their children will wake up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered.” -
Thomas Jefferson

It's pretty incredible that Jefferson was even able to imagine such a thing. It's a shame he only got his picture on the nickel..

Possibly at some point the economic pain may produce a viable third party, but with systemic corruption, I don't know how much it could accomplish. Joe, your third party is coming! With Sarah Palin at its head. Get on the bandwagon, donate early and often! A Washington outsider, not only will she NOT endorse and continue the status quo, she is totally ignorant of what status quo even means. Not my third party, but a third party is coming. The neo-cons bought Palin, and it's possible that they'll use her to head one that will arise as a result of the bail-out policies, which failed to deliver the jobs and recovery promised. Although it's just as likely that she'll be the 2012 Republican candidate. However, I'm talking about a genuine third party and we'll see one sans Palin and the neo-cons.

You folks act as if there is actually a lawmaking body that serves the American people! Do you honestly think Congress will do anything but a dog and pony show that makes themselves look good? They're not even doing that well. We won't even see restoration of ordinary checks and balances, nor will we see a stop put to end runs around Congressional Acts of War via UN resolutions. You're right. There wouldn't even be a need for a third party if CONgress, the Executive, and the Judiciary simply followed the US Constitution and the rule of law. That's not going to happen. When a POTUS decides that they want their war, it will be the same scenario, and there will be nothing that can be done about it short of total bankruptcy. When the Federal govt runs out of creditors to lend them money and their financial outlook resembles California's, that's when we will see an end to personally enriching wars to inflate the checkbooks of their cronies and energy policies that do the same for other cronies.
Till then, bend over...here it comes again. The only difference between California's finances and the government's is that California can't print money, despite their attempt to do so with those I.O.U.'s. The USA is heading for total bankruptcy, however, I believe that they'll use WW III to get us out it much as WW II got us out of the last one.

Thomas Jefferson That's what we see now. And it's only taken the bankers with the help of Congress about 96 years to do it.

I believe that the Bush/Cheney cabal should be prosecuted just as I believe that those involved in the bail-out scam should be prosecuted, but I doubt that we'll see either one. The recently departed lying scumbag McNamara should have also been prosecuted as a war criminal, instead, they made him head of the world bank.

I'm talking about a genuine third party ...and a "genuine third party" can only be one that is aligned left of the Democrats? The extreme right has, sort of, been determined to be the 30% which backed the Bush-Cheney Cabal despite any laws they broke, despite the fact that they were traitors, torturers, and war criminals. How large is the voting block represented by the extreme left? America leans heavily to the right, if it were otherwise Bush and Cheney would be in jail. Impeachment would have been a no brainer. If the former Republican vice presidential candidate chooses to form a third party I'm willing to predict that it will draw roughly 20% of the Republican vote in 2012. I see no left of center candidate on the horizon.

Greger,
Left, right, moderate, liberal, conservative, etc. are just words that are used to categorize, pigeonhole, bamboozle, and control people. What I mean by a "genuine third party" is one that represents Americans and not the corporations or special interests, and abides by the U.S. Constitution and the rule of law.
If Pelosi and the Democrats had done their job, Bush would have been impeached.
Why don't you see any left of center candidate on the horizon?
Joe
