I like Gene Autrey's "Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer." Handel's "Messiah" isn't too bad, either.

Nice combo, Joe...How about a contrapuntal arrangement of the two? grin

Even though it's not Chistmas-only music...and I wasn't raised Catholic...I think the Ave Maria is the most beautiful piece of religious music ever written. Can't decide between the Shubert and Gounod versions. Both have their own beauty

Favorite Christmas music...O Holy Night

(Not the whole song here, but an interesting video...)

If most of us could have anything we wanted we would want peace everywhere. It's difficult as hell to watch this and listen to the beautiful song, but we all need to. As a people Americans remain tremendously fortunate. Nothing lasts forever. Be thankful and remember the people in world who must live in war, few by choice.

Happy Christmas

Seconded. I don't cry easily, but then - this wasn't easy.

Thank you.

Wow! Thanks. It's Christmas afternoon, and I've just finished listening. It feels so Christmas-y. Great selections.

Comments:

Most traditional: Rick's and mine
Weirdest: Slipped's trio
Best Beat: Chuck's trio (87 and you can dance to them)
Coolest: Checkerboard Strangler's
Amazed me most by how good it was: 2wins's
Most connected to a trditional Christmas: Scoutgal's pair
Most religious: Almost's #1 and #2 and Mellowious's
Cutest: Skyhawk #1
Most feline: Skyhawk: #2
Jazziest: Greger's
Oddest combo: Joe Keegan's
Most unusual accompanying scenes: Almost's #3
Saddest (and, sadly, most likely truest): Slipped's last posting

And I enjoyed them all.

Warning: my real—as opposed to virtual—friends say that if I do something once and like it, it becomes a tradition for ever and EVER and EVER. Look for me to do a similar thread next year. Hope that will be okay.

Have a good Christmas night.
