My virus blocker keeps picking up viruses here. Also, a malware keeps trying to run a fake virus check also picked up here, quite frequently lately. Just FYI. I don't know what can be done about it. Thankfully, my virus blocker stop anything from getting in. (...at least I hope! )

Rick... probably not from here... whatever you're getting is replicating itself even after you delete the "problem" shut down, and then reboot. Get the name of the problem from your virus checker, and then google "remove (name of the problem)", for instructions...
It's usually somebody trying to sell AV programs...

Our servers are fire walled and virus scanned 24/7. There is no chance you picked up a virus from this web site. You probably have malware that came from another site and is word-scan triggered. A word on the forum causes it to kick in.
Capitol Hill Blue and ReaderRant run on separate servers in different locations in server farms that I own. They are virus free

(...at least I hope! ) mcafee site advisor is a good add on to have for your browser. if youve clicked onto a website that has been reported for malware dodginess it warns you before opening the page.

Yeah Rick, I agree...it's not coming from here. Believe it or not I have never had a successful virus attack, trojan infestation or malware attack of any kind, not in over ten years. Everyone else in the house? TONS....tons and tons and tons of em. I am constantly putting out fires on one of the ELEVEN machines we have.
But here, at this desk, nothing. I would have definitely noticed and said something if CHB had any baddies. It is safe as milk from Momma's you know what.

I use my company's laptop XP SP3 which has Micro Trend Anti-Virus. At the moment, something is stopping me from updating Micro Tend to the latest definitions. The most recent definitions that I have are from 12-27-2009.
I also use Spybot which isolated one bug and Malware Bytes which isolated 15 bugs - all last night!!!!
Last night I tried to post here and immediately, Micro Trend went into action and isolated three times: java_byte.at
I use IE 8 as my browser.

The "problem" seems to happen when I click the "Forums" link to get a list of the Forums.

rick - i have had similar experiences with my home computer. my wife actually shut down the computer believing there was a virus being loaded onto the hard drive. however, once a friend of ours - a computer tech - examined it, he determined that we were being victimized, if you will, by malware, and in the end someone was trying to scare us into buying their anti-virus product. i too agree that it is not coming from here, lest we would all, or more of us, be experiencing the same phenomenon at this point. when it gets bad, i take my computer in and have it cleaned out and update my anti-virus software. seems to work out for me.
sure, you can talk to god, but if you don't listen then what's the use? so, onward through the fog!

My company can work on my computer by "remote control." I'll have them fix the Micro Tend. Probably delete it and reinstall. I'm sure one of the bugs corrupted the portion where I can update the definitions to the software.
