I totally agree. This is why I'm flummoxed because I know if nothing is done now; our premiums will continue to rise to pay for those who don't have health insurance and the Republicans do not feel that health care is an inherent fundamental right.

We're screwed without the hugs and the kisses.

Now is the time to strike. Now is the time to enact legislation that will reign in the cost of insurance, but I fear it will not happen. It would require a tail between the legs moment for the liberal left and a moment of graciousness from the radical right. I found it compelling that Martha Coakley was in Washington last week collecting checks from healthcare insurers, the same people she was demonizing the morning she left Boston to take their money, while Scott Brown was raising over a million online. Martha was tone deaf throughout the whole campaign, but I believe it is an institutional problem. There is too much free money to be had and the wink and nod deals being made by both parties are killing American politics.

Health care will not change, people will not die in the streets and people will still complain about how much it costs. It isn't the idea of HCR, it is the process and the payment. It is the side deals and the lobbyists who legally bribe our elected officials to secure their place in the pecking order. Health care is not a right, but caring for the sick is a responsibility. That is the premise we operate on today and it works pretty well.
