Of all of the recipies offered, my food mood likes yours the best Emma.

Alas, I'm making oven "fried" (read: baked 'til crispy) chicken and smashed potatoes and peas.

I'm so inventive. Hmm

That sounds like comfort food to me, rick.

Mick, now I remember Ms Mick going to culinary school and being an expert. That's way cool. How good for you to reap the benefits of health food really done right! Nice.

That is essentially us too except we do eat fish (wild caught) routinely, Mr O more than me but I do eat it.
We "cheat" occasionally. Me most often with pork.

Sounds good Emma and Rick! smile

We had left overs tonight....he had the sweet and sour shrimp. I had the sweet potato dal and a veggie patty.
We wanted to go out and play with the new car so I didn't spend much time on food.

Scout, I make a very good vegetable soup with many of the ingredients you list. Heavy on beans. Carrots are a must also.
My 'secret' ingredient spices are soy sauce, chili powder, fresh basil, oregano and white wine.
That might be Mr O's favorite meal.

On the odd moment I will stray from the truth and the light. I'm not a feckin fanatic. If, I happen to find myself over near the Cardinals stadium among all the bars and hoopla, which I do from time to time, and I even get a glance of Shane's Rib Shack, I'll knock sumbitches over running to get there. Carolina BBQ, outside chopped, cole slaw on the topic and vinegar sauce. That'll happen once or twice a year.

Wild salmon is great and I do love it, but the salmon haven't been running in Phoenix for years. I'll get that anytime I'm in the Pacific NW.

Last night I had a vegetable craving...so I took some of my home-grown Brussells sprouts from the freezer ...and had a spinach salad with that. It's one advantage of cooking for one. You want something weird, you have something weird. grin

Thanks, BTW, for posting recipes...Looks like some good stuff! I'll get some on here soon, too.

LOL, yeah but that stirs a memory, Rick.
My father was from Kansas so we took lots of road trips out there and often just kept on going sometimes all the way to Cali...forn...I...A. grin
Somewhere in between there, we stopped at a restaurant (Colorado maybe?) that had a tank of salmon. You chose which one you wanted them to cook.

Oh gawd! sick
I love fresh salmon too but I don't want to talk to it first!

So there is salmon to be gotten in the middle of the country.
We get ours from Sarah Palin country.
