I love the flavor and texture of chickpeas but don't have a a lot of recipes for them
Julia, I hate to suggest anything so mundane, but if you Google "Garbanzo recipes" you will be inundated with delicious choices and ways to cook that unusual bean. Simply put, if a recipe sounds good to you, you will probably like it.
Supper last night was:
a Puff Pastry filled with Shrimp, Flounder and Spinach topped with White Wine Sauce. Garnished with lightly steamed Broccoli Florets
Garden Salad with Pickled Eggs and Beets, Marinated Mushrooms, Roasted Red Pepper, Cherry Tomatoes, Carrots and Romaine Lettuce
Cornish Hens, dry rubbed and lightly floured, slowly and gently roasted to perfection. Served with Homemade Cranberry Sauce with Mandarin Orange slices, Great Northern Beans
(soaked overnight and slowly simmered with a Ham hock on the stove top)
Walnut Bread. Fresh baked and warm from the oven
A sparkling White Wine from Italy
And finally, Apple Pie ala mode, with Sumatran coffee
