I was going to roast beets once...got them home and couldn't deal with them. They looked like they'd been planted just below someone who bled to death.

Oddly, I can deal (less and less all the time) with raw meat; I'm used to it being blood-colored. But vegetables aren't supposed to be bloody. It's just...wrong.
