Uncle Bucky Bush and Lord Abbett Family Mutual Fund used $70+ Million in investor funds to finance the ILLEGAL GAMBLING OPERATION.
FBI is conducting investigation and a Grand Jury is scheduled for May with AL Legislators being called due to some cooperating and wearing wires to catch crooked peers and lobbyist.
There is also a Racketeering Suit filed in the Middle District of Alabama involving the Ex-Mayor of Birmingham Larry Langford, Milton McGregor and some in the Gaming Industry.
You can Google "Who totes the note at Country Crossing," "Uncle Bucky Bush," "Country Crossing," "Lord Abbett," "Larry Langford," or "Milton McGregor" and follow the links for more info.

What's with the AG and the governor? They seem to be at cross purposes. I was following the Cross Country melodrama for awhile. Did the state cops shut it down or not? There was also some questions regarding bingo machines and gambling over the border here in Florida. Be interesting to see if the Grand Jury indicts anyone. If they do, it will be more interesting to see if anyone gets convicted. The common perception among some Alabamians that I know is that those with money and power get a different and more favorable form of justice than others.

I wish it was just in Alabama that the AG and Gov. were crooked. You are right that money and power do get a different and more favorable form of justice than others.......EVERYWHERE!!! With the Legislators "wired-up" to record conversations involving lobbyist we may get a real expose' of how they buy and sell our government on a daily basis....but then again, they may try to cover it up......like they always do. A NC Gov's right hand man was indicted and is now rolling over on his BOSS and others as detailed below: RALEIGH -- Ruffin Poole, an aide to former Gov. Mike Easley, pleaded guilty to a single count of income tax evasion Monday, sparing himself a trial on 57 counts related to corruption. As part of his plea agreement, Poole will cooperate with investigators, suggesting that federal prosecutors have their sights firmly set on higher ranking members of Easley's administration, possibly Easley himself. "I trust that Mr. Poole's cooperation will be valuable," said U.S. Attorney George Holding just after the hearing. "I can promise that we will use the information. We will follow the evidence to wherever this investigation leads." Read more: http://www.newsobserver.com/2010/04/26/454151/sing-a-song-of-easley.html?storylink=misearch

Panamaed, Your above link is to a page that is no longer available. Ultimately our freedoms, rights, and liberties get down to due process. Many Americans don't realize that until they personally experience government abuse and discover they don't have the remedies that the movies, TV, and comic books depict. Check out this Full Disclosure jail house interview of Richard I. Fine. This guy- one in ten million- renewed my faith in lawyers. Seems that the county supervisors were paying the judges extra (aka bribery)to rule on the counties behalf in cases assigned to them. The state legislators then passed some laws giving the supervisors and judges immunity. Mr. Fine had the intestinal fortitude and integrity to call them on it. This is the biggest bribery scandal in the country. Lately I've been hearing Sean Hannity yacking about "the rule of law, the rule of law," and the importance of same. Then how come Hannity doesn't feature Mr. Fine's denial of due process and the CA judiciary's abuse of the rule of law on his program? This is the most egregious example of it to date. Also, realize that there are a lot of lawyers in CA aware of this. Why is Mr. Fine alone? Because the others want to continue practicing "law" in CA and not be sitting next to Mr. Fine in jail. It serves as a chilling example to others who might buck the system. Joe

Sing a song of Easley is funny, but in a very sad way. Appears these incidents are increasingly becoming more the rule rather than the exception.

There ia a Grand Jury called for May to investigate Lobbyists buying Legislators, with some of the Legislators cooperating and being "wired-up" by the FBI to record conversations about the illegal bribery and extortion.
I wish more would come forward EVERYWHERE and cooperate to clean up the system
There is a systemic failure regarding Governmental Corruption on a Nationwide Scale that only loyal, honest and patriotic Grand Juries can remedy.

There is also a Racketeering Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act suit filed in the Middle District of Alabama against Convicted Birmingham Ex-Mayor Larry Langford, who is purported to have won millions illegally from crooked machines, Milton McGregor and Gambling Machine Manufacturers.
