I protest monopolization of any business.
I am glad that the Legislative, Judicial and Executive Branches are being exposed for what they really do on a daily basis in the United States with regards to Crooked Lobbyists and their influence on Governmental Corruption. From my previous link: Gilley said he has been denied every access to the court system. “This task force has denied us the civil court process five times now. Their only interest — let me reiterate – their only interest is to raid, destroy and take our machines, and eliminate competition for the Indian casinos. Period.” >snip< “This has been the most malicious abuse of power by the governor’s office. He wants everybody else investigated. Let’s get him to testify under oath.” Panamaed, you seem to be coming out in support of the monopoly held by the Indian Casinos and equally in support of a corrupt politician trying to hold a businessman back from conducting legal business in the state of Alabama.

To me, both sides of this issue are corrupt in their own special way.
I don't have a problem with letting the voters decide, but the Bill that they vote on should be set up for a Yes to gambling with a FREE MARKET APPROACH or No to ALL State Licensed gambling.
The Indians have bought out Milton and others in some areas already with them retaining 35% of the Action.
I am for letting the sunshine in and watching the cockroaches scatter. If there is going to be gambling there needs to be enogh taxation to cover the detrimental effects, oversight and more. I am almost for letting the Government control it completely....maybe then they could do away with the IRS!

I am almost for letting the Government control it completely....maybe then they could do away with the IRS! There is an ongoing federal investigation of possible "vote buying on the part of gambling interests. This is the latest news on that: Lawmakers, lobbyists appear before Ala grand jury
By BOB JOHNSON MONTGOMERY, Ala. At least six legislators and three lobbyists appeared at the federal courthouse in Montgomery on Tuesday to testify before a grand jury investigating allegations of possible vote buying on a bill to legalize electronic bingo. The legislators, including five Republicans and one Democrat, said they were asked if they had been offered anything of value if they would vote for the bingo bill and said they had not been offered anything they felt was improper. Link So the feds are letting the sun in and there are no cockroaches. At least no more so than usual. This is an Alabama state issue, when the eventually vote to allow the Bingo Machines they will set up a Gambling Commision which will tax and regulate it heavily. The IRS is not involved in Alabama state taxation and so could not be eliminated over this issue.

What did Milton McGregor say about the Racketeering case against him, Convicted Ex-Birmingham Mayor Larry Langford and the Gaming Machine manufacturers filed in the Middle District of Alabama?
How much do you think Larry Langford HONESTLY WON at McGregor's Hall?

This is another take on some of the shenanagans: The Associated Press May 5, 2010, 5:49PM ET Alabama legislator predicts grand jury indictments By PHILLIP RAWLS Story Tools MONTGOMERY, Ala. One of several Alabama legislators who testified to a federal grand jury Wednesday predicted indictments will result from the investigation into possible vote buying on a bill to authorize and regulate electronic bingo casinos. Republican Rep. Barry Mask of Wetumpka choked up and wiped away tears as he talked to reporters after his private appearance before the grand jury. Mask said he told the grand jury, "There are a lot of shenanigans going on." He would not elaborate because he said it might jeopardize the investigation. But he said he had talked to federal investigators earlier in their investigation of possible vote buying, and he predicted the grand jury will issue indictments involving the Legislature. "The state deserves a lot better than what has gone on in this body the last four months," Mask said. "If it's this corrupt before we have it, just think what it would be after," he said. http://www.businessweek.com/ap/financialnews/D9FGUFQ00.htm

I think the word count was under 150 and it is not the entire article.
Am I missing something else...I am choked up and wiping away tears, too.

Again, your link has no credentialing. It is just a piece of paper that anyone could have drawn up and inserted any "facts" they wished to put in the blanks. There is absolutely no verification. Please provide some verifiying links.
