Two happenings of interest today--at least IMHO.

1) Joan, my primary caregiver, has a granddaughter Emily, who is six. This morning Stacy, Joan's husband, sent me pictures of Emily's dolls, which gave me hope for the next generation. In Emily's collection were both white and black dolls. (Emily is white.) Now when I was a kid, the dolls I carted around were my favorites. I hope that's true for Emily 'cause if it is ... Well, you can figure out where I'm going and putting it into words might sound maudlin. But I do have hope.

2) No look at the future in this one; I just found it interesting. I saw a doctor this morning, and he had a medical student following him around. He left to check something, and she noticed I had a book. She asked if I read a lot and she said I did. She said she read a lot, too. I asked her what types of books she read. "Christian," she said. I looked away and clenched my teeth to keep from saying, "Bought into that, huh?" Then I thought she might be a Scoutgal kind of Christian and was glad I hadn't said it. Thankfully the doctor-to-be had changed the subject. Maybe I hadn't been as subtle as I thought.

Anyway--two events. There they be.

This was my competition (I ALWAYS sold more than her though! cool ). This photo best shows what a balloon girl is. LOL

Sorry to disappoint you Schlack and sorry the photos weren't clearer. I don't have a scanner and had to photograph the photographs.
Needless to say, they are old.

The camera person cut off my balloons...
Donchya just hate it when your balloons get cut off? laugh Thanks for sharing the pix, Olyve! Not surprised you beat out the competition. Look at that smile! grin

And I'm glad you liked the video. He's sweet, isn't he?

Martha...I agree. Two interesting events.

The way I see it, it's the people who think they're Christians but who really aren't that are the problem. They make up their own rules...or follow rules that someone else made up that don't match the original teachings.

Sans distortion, Christianity is completely harmless...and if followed correctly, would make the world a better, more peaceful place. Doesn't generally happen, though. rolleyes
