A couple weeks ago you said you were coming over, but didn't. I'm still here/
Bow
Martha, you kick butt!
The mental picture of you tapping your foot which I know you can't but you oh so don't want to be messed with, is delicious.
Give her hell!

You southern girls (and guys) need to be reading Roy Blount Jr's book "Long Time Leaving, Dispatches From up South".
Truly.
The rest of you might get a kick out of it too but then you might not understand the language! LOL

Joe, I love that.

Scout, have a great time. That will be good for you.

Welp, my youngest left for Montana yesterday with her new husband. I'm a little discombobulated. That's a lot to take in at once.
I like him a lot but I don't know him very well. His parents are old Athens people too and they are great. I look forward to getting to know them.
But it's just a lot to take in....

Thank you, Naomi.
I need to clarify just a bit. I'm really not that awesome. LOL
This is my oldest girl. Married with children.
She's just got some things going on in her own life similar to past stuff for me and I think she finally realizes how hard my decisions were and how lucky I was to go the direction I did. We've always been close but she's been critical of some of the more unconventional things I've done.
She understands better now.
It was a good weekend of incredibly good music and bonding.
It was her first Athfest and I think she can't quite believe she doesn't still live here.

Martha, I came down with some upper resp. crud that lasted a week. I was still "recovering" when I went to DC last week. (A story I can only tell you in person. Let's just say that I now know I can live with anyone.

I'll try to drop by now that I'm all well. I think you will like the Cobin book.

Happy Friday all! Took me a bit to figure out you've gone to weekly RTs. What else did I miss?

Happy birthday weekend, Mellow! I have a new station to send you.

I have been non-stop schooling and going to work. That's about all I've been doing.

We had to put our dear cat Sparky to sleep two weeks ago. That was devastating.

I was in Pensacola last week and took photos of the oil on the beaches. We are just heartbroken here, as I'm sure Joe can attest.

I'm going to spend a couple of days this weekend with my friend who lives on the beach at a place called Bald Point. We are going to drive westward toward Panama City to see what we can see.

Cheers and hugs to you all.

EmmaG

Oh, Rick, thanks - for some reason that reminded me of a video I had intended to use in the opener; it just didn't fit.

It's almost hypnotic; the words, more or less unintelligible, are taken from the Alice in Wonderland quote "I give myself good advice but very seldom do I follow it, that explains the trouble." The video is Disney.

I love this thing and I absolutely don't know why, except, perhaps, that the lyrics sound to me a bit like "there is a long ways, a long ways to travel."

Pogo - Alice

Emma, I am so very sorry.
When our cats went down it was devastating too.
My condolences.
We still have "Misty and Sugar" moments after 2 and 3 years. Those girls were special.
I am sorry.

The beaches too.
I guess the Gulf will never be the same again.
I grew up there.

Are you Dr. Emma now?
