Okay. It says I write like David Foster Wallace. I wish the site said something more than just the name. All I can think of is that both of us tend to write (or tended, in his case) at length!

Oh, dear. Does this mean I need to take another shot at Infinite Jest? But it's so LONG!

I believe that's Joyce, Sky, isn't it? Good grief, it could almost be Johnny Depp in that portrait.

(hmm...apparently I blog like David Foster Wallace, but I email like Nabokov...strange)

Cory Doctorow?
I've never heard of him.

Hmmm.. I, apparently, write like Stephen King, James Joyce and Raymond Chandler. (Raymond Chandler in one paragraph and then James Joyce in the second paragraph of the same post). I just popped in another old post of mine and - on that day - I was Kurt Vonnegut. Sweet. Not sure we should put a lot of faith in this particular 'test'.

I just entered a paragraph from Vonnegut's "Harrison Bergeron" and it correctly picked Kurt Vonnegut as the author. I entered an HP Lovecraft paragraph and it correctly identified that - then I tried James Joyce and it got it right again. So, perhaps I'm wildly inconsistent in my writing.

Oops. I'm fickle.
The first time I used a post from RR.

I tried it again using an email I wrote to a friend (you, Mellow) and now I come up with Vladimir Nabokov author of Lolita.
His wiki mentions use of many descriptive details and a preference for actualism over realism and "Nabokov's English combines aching lyricism with dispassionate precision in a way that seems to render every human emotion in all its intensity but never with an ounce of schmaltz or soggy language".

Well, I have yet to know you to be schmaltzy about anything except, possibly, food. Soggy? Maybe...but not when you remember to use beer mats.

I need to wait to get home - I can't put some of the things I write on an official computer... heh.

I submitted a few paragraphs from a technical document I wrote for work. Apparently, I write like Dan Brown (Da Vinci Code, etc.).

I have published non-fiction. Maybe I should take my wife's advice and start writing speculative fiction.
