Yes, only the names have changed. But still, no one in Washington is protecting the innocent voters who put them there. And that has been true since the Washington administration. In fact, I would be shocked if there hasn't been at least one journalist/commentator or whatever who has expressed these very same sentiments for each of the 43 Presidential administrations which preceded the current one.

IMO- the voters will throw them all out this November. Certainly a lot of legislators will be "thrown out" this November. The logic for making the decisions is less clear. For example.... had it not been for the ethics investigation.... what would happen to Rangel? Probably get re-elected. In general is it the case that corrupt legislators get thrown out? Not really. They are usually running from "safe" districts where they literally cannot lose. On the other hand, lots of legislators from borderline districts will lose regardless of their integrity. So.... yeah, lots of folks will get thrown out. But in most cases it will have not much to do with the degree to which they are accurately described as "trash." It it also likely that most of the "trash" will remain in place.

Yes, only the names have changed. But still, no one in Washington is protecting the innocent voters who put them there. Innocent voters? IMO voters are frequently ill informed and make their voting decisions on all sorts of self interested factors... IE did the legislator help bring money to my district? Voters are quite likely to vote for people who promise tax cuts we cannot afford in combination with aggressive foreign policies that foment expensive wars. I am sorry to say that I do not see the voters (or non voters) of this country as innocent non-participants the fate of our country.

IMO- the voters will throw them all out this November. And unfortunately put in more of the same. Probably, human nature being what it is. However, love of one's family, children, grandchildren, and country- combined with brains and a back bone- might prove to be an effective antidote to the highly contagious Potomac Fever once they get to DC. In any case, a turnover will at least confuse the lobbyists and special interest for awhile until they figure out who they can buy.

An alledged pervert has a good prescription for what ails “We the People”.
“I’m Starting With The Man In The Mirror
I’m Asking Him To Change His Ways
And No Message Could Have Been Any Clearer
If You Wanna Make The World A Better Place
Take A Look At Yourself, And Then Make A Change”
By Michael Jackson
In reality…given our system of government, how else is the system going to be changed? WE (individuals) have to place brutal expectations and make accountability a mandate with our elected officials. But, that's not gonna happen is it? We’re quickly coming to the end of our rope.
The Washington Royalty is gonna take us down…no doubt about it. Monarchies plainly don’t work for the benefit of the people that they rule.
Turn on ANY brand of political machine - and it automatically goes to the "SPIN and LIE CYCLE"
Yours Truly - Gregg
