OH guys and girls, that is awesome. I actually have tears in my eyes. It won't happen in my life time in my state but thank god you at least got yours. Sweet indeed. Sweet! But, could you marry someone else tonight? Before the ruling I asked a guy I work with to marry me, he said 'sure'. LOL! Y'all are so cute!

Welp, CNN.com says: [Judge Walker] also granted supporters of Proposition 8 a stay, which will essentially stop his ruling from taking immediate effect. They had argued, prior to his ruling, that same-sex marriages would be performed soon after his decision and could be complicated by rulings and appeals further down the legal road.

Well, there's one advantage to a North American Union: Canada allows gay marriages.

If he granted a stay it is not in the order and this from the LA Times appears to indicate otherwise: Proponents of Proposition 8 had asked Walker to block enforcement of his ruling immediately, but Walker declined. The proponents of the ballot measure said they would immediately appeal.
Walker could still put the ruling on hold pending appeal after hearing more arguments, but his ruling Wednesday directed city and state officials to stop enforcing the marriage ban. Possibly it was a separate order.

I thought only Mexico City allowed gay marriage.
If Mexico allows gay marriage and Canada allows gay marriage, then, US has to allow gay marriage for the "convergence."

In Mexico, only civil marriages are recognized by the law and all its proceedings fall under local state legislation.[1] Same-sex civil unions are legally performed and recognized in Mexico City (Law for Coexistence Partnerships, LCS) and in the northern state of Coahuila (Civil Pact of Solidarity, PSC), whose legal residents constitute 10.31% of the national population approximately.[nb 1] Unlike Mexico City's law, once same-sex couples have registered in Coahuila, the state protects their rights no matter where they live in the country.
