issodhos you are just baiting here. There is no disagreement other than the one you are trying to foment.
What a waste of brain waves.

Issodhos, after reflecting more on your assertion that it is a property issue I totally disagree.
Religious facilities are subject to zoning, permitting, safety and a host of other laws. Privately owned property is subject to zoning, permitting, safety and a host of other laws In this particular instance, the City could apply those laws to the Muslim center, and no doubt has. In this particular instance, the City could apply those laws to this privately owned property, and no doubt has. Since no one is suggesting that they have not met city laws, the only remaining reason for this issue seeing the light of day is religious prejudice. Citizens can petition for anything they want -- even religious prejudice, if indeed that is what they are motivated by. That does not mean that they will be successful. Simply put, religious organizations are not free to use property in any way they see fit. Simply put, owners of private property are not free to use property in any way they see fit. Yours, Issodhos

No matter how you slice the cake, Issodhos, there should be no real objection to what is proposed. It's just one more issue for the...dare I use the words...rabid right? to get all frothy at the mouth and hydrophobic about. For them to send countless emails back and forth telling themselves how sickening it is that Muzlims are allowed to live in this Christian nation at all.

The problem, Iss, is that you constantly - indeed, I can't think of a counter-example - attribute political/pandering motives to anyone who states something that you disagree with. On the contrary, there are many people who have strong ethical reasons for taking stands on subjects, and reasonable people can have different viewpoints. Fortunately, your claims do not provide a basis for fact or truth, Ponderer. On several occassions I have posted socialists who I strongly disagree with but still recognize their integrity. As to principled pols being few and far between in my postings, that may be because pols with integrity are few and far between. But, I also understand your need to continue to cover for the utterly corrupt party of your choice. You have been constant in doing that.;-) Yours, Issodhos

I am sure you are attempting to say something .... but what does what you say differ from what I said, and keep in mind that topic of this thread, not your mind-thread.

Remember when the rebuild of the WTC was supposed to look like this? ![[Linked Image from i48.photobucket.com]](http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f228/ca_rickf/newwtc.jpg) ...the rebuild should have been designed this way - the 'Freedom Tower' is for the boids. Is that a giant "finger"? No. It is actually a graphical representation of the voter's trust and hope in President Obama. Hint: the middle column represents inaugaration night. Extrapolate from there. Yours, Issodhos

Is it too soon to put Catholic Churches next to play grounds? Is that what we're saying? (yes Jon Stewart Show)

Best line on this subject, John Oliver on the Daily Show" Catholics can put a church next to a school, but should they?
