Finally some good news: Blown-Out Gulf Well Is in 'Static Condition'
Quote
ON THE GULF OF MEXICO -- In a significant step toward stopping the worst offshore oil spill in U.S. history, BP said Wednesday mud that was forced down its blown-out well was holding back the flow of crude in the Gulf of Mexico and it was in a "static condition."

The Crime of the Century From the article:
Quote
To judge from most media coverage, the beaches are open, the fishing restrictions being lifted and the Gulf resorts open for business in a healthy, safe environment. We, along with Pierre LeBlanc, spent the last few weeks along the Gulf coast from Louisiana to Florida, and the reality is distinctly different. The coastal communities of Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida have been inundated by the oil and toxic dispersant Corexit 9500, and the entire region is contaminated. The once pristine white beaches that have been subject to intense cleaning operations now contain the oil/dispersant contamination to an unknown depth. The economic impacts potentially exceed even the devastation of a major hurricane like Katrina, the adverse impacts on health and welfare of human populations are increasing every minute of every day and the long-term effects are potentially life threatening.

Is the News Coming From the Gulf Too Good To Be True? Unfortunately, Yes. Seems that BP is going to do what the US should have done in Vietnam: Declare victory and leave.

UGA report: vast majority of Gulf oil remains

Quote
A new report authored by five marine scientists with the Georgia Sea Grant and the University of Georgia was released Monday afternoon and strongly contradicts reports suggesting only 25 percent of the oil from the spill remains. The report came from an analysis of federal estimates.

Earlier this month federal scientists said that only about a quarter of the oil remained and the rest was either removed, dissolved or dispersed.

What it just didn't disappear or evaporate like BP, their media shills, and rent-a-scientist are saying? I noticed a headline in the Panama City News Herald earlier this morning that some slight storm caused the Gulf to cough up some tar balls on nearby beaches. I hate to see what a hurricane will do to all that "disappeared" oil. Give BP credit. They certainly learned from the Exxon Valdez spill. First block out all media, then control it and all information, as well as the experts, language, and government regulators, in a martial law type lock down. In those terms, they did a great job. "They" talk about giving Gulf seafood the "sniff" test to see if it smells of oil. If it doesn't smell of oil, presumably it's safe.
