Scientists Find Thick Layer Of Oil On SeafloorScientists on a research vessel in the Gulf of Mexico are finding a substantial layer of oily sediment stretching for dozens of miles in all directions. Their discovery suggests that a lot of oil from the Deepwater Horizon didn't simply evaporate or dissipate into the water — it has settled to the seafloor.

Hi Joe. I "wish" I could "find" your "research" EXCEPTIONAL! However,I am "convinced" that "it" is the "new norm"."The Gulf" is now a bigger Dead Zone .

"They" covered up the true extent of the damage. Shows you who's really in charge. I feel that most Americans other than Gulf Coast residents are bored with the story or else believe that BP has capped the well and it's not leaking any longer. If any of the crap that's on the bottom of the Gulf or dissolved in the water gets into the atmosphere and spreads north, you'll see a lot more interested people. If interested, check out: Project Gulf Impact(you can sign up for email updates), Phoenix Rising from the Gulf, The Examiner- Debra Dupre's (human rights examiner) articles, and Gulf Coast Barefoot Doctors. There are other blogs and occasional news stories in some newspapers and TV stations, but the ones that I listed above will keep you well informed. BP runs full page adds once or twice a week and sometimes more in FL Panhandle newspapers. I don't believe that you'll find those bastions of the First Amendment printing too many derogatory stories about BP or their efforts to clean up the Gulf. They also don't want to scare any tourists away.

Hi Joe. However,I am "convinced" that "it" is the "new norm"."The Gulf" is now a bigger Dead Zone . I believe that it will take decades to clean up the Gulf from this preventable disaster. Check out this fish kill (click on video) and see the dead zone expanding. Fish kills aren't unusual, but they usually involve only one species of fish or marine life. This one includes all types of fish and marine life.

' I was amused that the Economist Magazine assiduously avoided the topic of the Gulf Oil Disaster. Shows in whose pocket they are!

MSM isn't reporting any of this. If you believed and depended upon MSM, you'd probably believe that this BP disaster is over and was blown out of proportion to begin with. It's a total cover-up except for the alternative news. The crap that the government/BP is dishing out that the seafood is safe based on a "smell test" is nonsense. I love blue crab, back fin crab cakes, oysters, grouper, and just about any seafood from the Gulf, but I haven't had any for some time since I'm concerned about its safety.

Ever notice that you don't hear people anymore saying that "it's a free country!" Here's one of the reasons. “I explained the work, but there seemed to be a grave concern as to why we were finding contamination,” [Dr. William Sawyer, a Florida-based toxicologist] said. “It was sort of a loaded question — and then the questions were geared towards sampling permits.” …
“The second thing we were asked is, ‘Do we believe that our data shows that the federal data is wrong?’” Kaltofen said. “The last thing, of course, is the National Commission impugned my reputation and said that they were trying to determine if we were sampling illegally.” …
“If we don’t get the data out to people, how will they decide if it’s safe?” Kaltofen said.
