But, Rick, if "Frisco" is a derogatory term for San Francisco, which I will agree with, though I think it a pretty minor infraction of etiquette, then surely your use of "El Lay" for la Cuidad de Nuesta Señora la Reina de los Angeles de Porciuncula also goes beyond the bourne.

I was born and raised in Los Angeles and never referred to my hometown as "L.A."---I always said "Los Angeles". Though I must admit that I sinned in not pronouncing the "g" in "Angeles" in the Spanish way.

You like to take digs at poor, defenceless Los Angeles. Instead of crudely referring to it as "L.A., why don't you always call it "Los Angeles", but use the Spanish pronunciation. A much more subtle and refined way of shocking the sensibilities of Anglo Angelenos.
