Speaking of Los Angeles:
Quote
"L.A. is more than catching up to New York—in some ways, it's moving past it," says Agnes Gund, a prominent New York-based art collector who used to run the board of trustees at New York's Museum of Modern Art and served on the board of Los Angeles's J. Paul Getty Trust for 12 years until 2006.

In June, Jeffrey Deitch, one of New York's most powerful gallery owners, relocated to Los Angeles to become the director of the city's Museum of Contemporary Art, a rare move from the private art-dealing sphere to the museum world. The owners of the Armory Show, New York's largest art fair, are putting together a major art fair to debut in downtown L.A. next fall.

"The art world is a very fluid place, but there is no question that L.A. is very hot at the moment," says Glenn Lowry, the director of the Museum of Modern Art in New York.

Poor little Los Angeles! Always piping up, "But we're just as advanced as the real cities, too!"

Los Angeles suffers from a well-deserved inferiority complex, just as the United States does as a whole, on those occasions when it is forced to be aware of its deficiencies compared to countries that actually are civilized!

Laugh as you will, as you sit in your horrible weather hovels. Envy is so ugly.

Yes, it's cool, and rainy today. [Linked Image from i48.photobucket.com], [Linked Image from i48.photobucket.com]

How else do you think we get our drinking water? We certainly don't steal it from others! [Linked Image from i48.photobucket.com]

Actually you do "steal" it as much as SoCal does. There is no natural source in Frisco, it comes from Hetch Hetchy and the Delta. In fact, what good is Frisco anyway?

Oh yes, that is where the losers live.

Hope to hear from Kathy and Chuck about the Rally to Restore Sanity today. Good show, seemed to be a huge crowd.

For the uninformed of the Bay Area, I present Crystal Springs:

(...why, just look at those gorgeous green mountains and that blue sky, and ...look at of all that water!) Bow
