I just got done with the Birthday Party/Feast and I don't feel a bit older.
In fact it seems like birthdays Must be good for you.
The people who have the most of them seem to live longer than anyone else.
Good coffee, good weed, and time on my hands...

I received a letter from a friend. I got to "In God We Trust" and I went not only ballistic, but ICBM!!!!
Am I off base here?
Dave,
I think you are really a good guy. I think you explore all sides of a situation and make your decisions as a result of those evaluations. (We could get into conversations about socialism and capitalism, but this is not what we are discussing right now.)
I wish you had not sent me this letter.
When I got to the part of the letter “In God We Trust,” I didn’t want to read any further. I am a Christian, but what I do has nothing to do with how I believe. There are a lot of people who have no belief in a God would do more than I do.
After you REALLY read the CONSTITUTION, The Article of Confederation (that our founding fathers decided to NOT approve) and then read the FEDERALISTS PAPERS, get back to me.
This letter is BULL s***.
I am a Christian. I follow the examples of the historical Jesus. I find it ironic (in the light of this Christian uprising) that my friend who helps me minister to the homeless is JEWISH. Larry comes every Sunday earlier than I. He picks up the van he purchased, and goes to the camps throughout the city gathering our little group of the forgotten.
There are some in this new Congress who would say that Larry has no hope of salvation because he is not Christian.
I know Larry.
He would do what he does if he were atheist (which I suspect he really might be.)
I do the things I do, not because I am Christian; I am Christian because I do the things I do.
You have become FB friends with my neighbor Reenie. She has had a hard life. She is married to a man who probably makes her feel inadequate. She was once a beautiful woman. She had a terrible illness and has gained a lot of weight. I think she also has a substance abuse problem. She lives in the shadow of her husband.
None of this makes a difference to me. I love her where she is. Even thought we are poles apart, I will be her forever friend.
I ache that she cannot think for herself. She lives in the shadow of her husband. It is very sad.
With Reenie, as with so many people, “IN GOD WE TRUST” is the golden ticket.
Reenie tells me all the time how she wants to help; how much she cares. I have taken her on my adventures (because for me I love every person I experience; every opportunity to give a hug, to give a kiss, to make a person feel they are loved.)
She talks the talk. If she walks the walk, I don’t know about it.
She had serious, VERY SERIOUS, emotional and physical problems.
BUT DAMNIT, [censored] that “In God We Trust.”
When someone (anyone) puts his ass on the line in helping other people, I will take seriously the useless useless statement “In God We Trust.”
DO IT. Don’t put in on currency.
I think I told you about my little experiment of considering my Kiwansis Club as a “snow globe” example of the greater US. I was giving the US the benefit of a doubt because anyone in Kiwanis shoud be there to “build.” That is our motto.
Of the 100 membership, we have 30 who attend meetings. Their memberships for the most part are either paid by their employers, or are used as tax write-offs. Of the 100 members, we have about 30 who attend meetings. About 15 take park in our major fundraiser (to build a park for handicapped children and parents who are handicapped so “everyone can play.”) About 10 rang bells for the Salvation Army. About four of us take the adult mentally challenged and nurture them year-round (these people who are mentally handicapped are also not very pretty people for the most part.) About one of us goes every Sunday to pick up and feed the homeless, to take them back to their camps, to worry about them when the snow is on the ground and know that they will not go into shelters because they are, after all, mentally ill.
About one of us takes elderly people to the doctor, takes an old man to get his Social Security check cashed, then goes to one of those outrageous check-cashing places to pay his debt because Social Security is hardly enough for a person who work minimum wages all his life to live up – especially if the person is in bad health, and then cries when Mr. Burks takes the money that is left and asks that person to take him to the Dollar General Store to purchase items because he wants to help “the poor.”
Yea, I really, really love this trickle down Tea Party future. The only thing that will be trickling down will be the pee that is on my leg and someone will try to tell me it is raining.
Walk the walk, don’t talk the talk.

Why is it that the Dems have to be behind in the minority before they use their gravitas? Where was Mr. Reid's cajones before now and prior to the lame-duck session of Congress? (CNSNews.com) - Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) said Thursday that the “misguided" House Republicans “have to understand that the health care bill is not going to be repealed” and that they “should get a new lease on life and talk about something else.”

Did'ja get the drowning in his Soros, part, Scout? All Glenn Beck does is talk about what a threat to Democracy George Soros is... ...it's a play on words.
