Philosophically, Rick, I agree. The slippery slope here is that when you call for the limitation of one individual right for the good of the collective. Then all individual rights may come under equal scrutiny. Either you espouse individual rights or collective rights, I don't think you can have it both ways.
I admit to being a collectivist. I was rescued by government safety nets and I like having them in place. There is no more noble a thing a government can do than to help it's citizens in times of need.
Reducing the capacity of clips and magazines being manufactured and sold might very well save lives. Collectively a good thing. But is it an infringement on individual rights?
