Another forum I'm on had a line of right-wingers waiting to defend the indefensible. That's always fun.

Am into the Breivik Manifesto, about 130 pages, out of 1510. For whatever else, this man is not illiterate. The sadness of this, and so many other disasters that initiate from unsalved egoes or frustration, is the waste. Waste, not only from the harm to society, but the loss of what might have come from rational discourse. Are we innocent by silence and inaction? Is the Debt Crisis a parallel in extremism? Is being a slave to "money" as bad as having a faith based moral standard? Consider the number of murders and assassination attempts that have occurred in the US in just the past few years, that were initiated by individuals who considered it to be their moral obligation. Do we measure outrage by the number of murders? In the matter of abortion alone, how many people feel it to be morally right to kill an enabler? I wonder that we make judgments based on the political correctness that Breivik spent so much time analyzing? Should we try to understand, or is it better to accept the law as being correct. If law is the answer, then whose law? Just asking...

' That "idea" has been very popular with the ruling classes all through history.
It shows that such creatures were contemptible, crude brutes---with no perception of the Good, the True and the Beautiful.
Humankind will not enter into its maturity until Archimedes is always superior to the Roman soldier.
I could never be a Marxist. Marx thought that the proletariat was the leading class of the modern age. It is obvious to me that it is the educated and the technocrats who are the leading class.
The proof of that is that all other classes could be wiped out, and the world would muddle through. But destroy the educated and the technocrats, and the whole edifice of modern life would come crashing down.
Unlike the dictatorship of the proletariat, the dictatorship of the technocrats could be established at this very moment. However, the savants lack cohesion and awareness of their own power because of a lagging historical consciousness.
Heretofore, it was always the Roman soldier who could kill Archimedes, rather than the other way round, and the mental aristocracy has been conditioned all through history to be cringing sycophants to the people with the swords and guns.
When they finally realize their true strength, a new age of history will begin.
